Will this work with the D-70?
the unit will work with any Nikon camera that has a hot shoe on it. I have 2 and I love them have never had a problem with them except for low batteries and that was my fault.

Can you add a battery pack to this flash, and if so which one is compatible?
I never have I just use the rechargeable AA and have great luck. The flash in general has worked great for me having taken about 5k pics with it.

Yes this will definitely work. it went out on me 2 years later but i just bought another one. For the price its pretty good but i ended up getting a nikon flash for my more professional shoots.
