Telephoto zoom is designed for DX-format Nikon F-mount cameras and provides an 82.5-300mm equivalent focal length.
One extra-low dispersion element greatly reduces color fringing and chromatic aberrations in order to produce greater clarity and color accuracy.
A Super Integrated Coating has been applied to individual elements to suppress internal reflections, flare, and ghosting for improved contrast and color accuracy when working in strong lighting conditions.
Silent Wave Motor affords quick, quiet, and precise autofocus performance along with full-time manual focus override.
VR (Vibration Reduction) image stabilization helps to minimize the appearance of camera shake by four stops to benefit shooting handheld in difficult lighting conditions.
Rounded seven-blade diaphragm promotes a pleasing out of focus quality that benefits the use of shallow depth of field and selective focus techniques.
A retractable lens barrel design maintains an especially compact form factor when the lens is not in use.

Yes it will. DX lens DX camera. I should add that I'm 70+ and gave up film very reluctantly a couple of years ago. This has become my go-to lens, five stars.

question

will this work on Nikon D610?
Asked by: Tony T.
Sorry, I don't have mine on a D610 but it should work great on any recent DX camera (or FX if you are ok with the reduced image). It is an excellent lens that produces great color and sharpness throughout the zoom range.

question

Will this lens fit the Nikon D850?
Asked by: Karen W.
It will fit on the Nikon D850. However, the camera will go to the smaller DX format on the D850's FX sensor. This means you will not be using the full sensor and getting everything you can with the outstanding D850. Of course, these are just tools and maybe you have a specific application that requires a DX format image. In that matter, yes you can use this lens. However, I think it more likely that this lens would be better for your overall use. Nikon AF Zoom-NIKKOR 70-300mm f/4-5.6G Lens B&H # NI7030045GAF. Again being the remarkable Nikon D850, I would suggest getting the best possible lenses for it when you can. Only then will you get every pixel of image quality the D850 can produce. Both of the following would be upgrades: Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 28-300mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR Lens B&H # NI28300GAF and Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 70-200mm f/2.8E FL ED VR Lens B&H # NI7020028E.
