Yamaha P-45 Overview

The P-45 Compact 88-Key Portable Digital Piano from Yamaha features a grand piano sound created by AWM Stereo Sampling. Its 88-key Graded Hammer keyboard models the action of an acoustic piano and provides 4 levels of touch sensitivity.

The keyboard includes grand piano, electric piano, organ, strings, harpsichord, and vibraphone voices with 64-note polyphony. It features metronome, transpose, and tuning calibration functions as well as 4 types of reverb. The keyboard can also be split into layers or Duo mode for teaching. A USB to host port allows for use of the keyboard as a MIDI controller.

Yamaha should have made it clear that this was a "Practice Only" piano !!!!!!! I bought it hoping to use it for live performance but after contacting Yamaha for instructions on how to use it in live performance, their response was "It was never ment for live stage Use" !!!!!! WHY DIDN'T THEY SAY SO RIGHT UP FRONT !!!!! I feel like I really got ripped off on this purchased !!!!! If you want a piano to tinker around it is OK for that .... You want a serious piano for multiple uses, then STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS ONE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! To Me: It's Junk.............. Just Sayin' .. Ugh ..

I use this when I need to bring a keyboard for rehearsals or performances working with vocalists. The onboard speaker means I'm not lugging around an amp and has always been loud enough when working with vocalists (individuals and groups with up to about 40 singing at a time). It's lightweight and travels easily, and has a great feel when playing.

No, the dust cover is not included in the bundle, We do offer the Yamaha Dust Cover for 88-Key Keyboards and Digital Pianos (B&H # YADUSTCVR88) separately and we also have other compatible dust covers such as the On-Stage KDA7088B 88-Key Keyboard Dust Cover - Black (B&H # ONKDA7088B). Gator Cases GKC-1648 Dust Cover - for Most 88 Note Keyboards (B&H # GAGKC1648), and Auray KC-88KB Keyboard Dust Cover - 88 Keys, Black (B&H # AUKC88KB).

It doesn't have a dedicated MIDI Out jack but it does do Midi over the USB -Type B connection on it. You would need a USB host, such as a computer to make use of Midi with this.

No, it doesn't come with a stand. I believe, Yamaha make a matching stand, but I opted for an x-style stand, and it was pretty reasonably priced and is fairly sturdy for a portable stand.
