Newly manufactured and cryogenically treated rendition of the classic ECC83 dual-triode vacuum tube, commonly known by the American designation 12AX7
Great for input and inter-stage audio amplifiers used in all types of music and playing styles
Designed to allow cleaner headroom than higher gain 12AX7s when pushed into overdrive
Strongly defined lows, a rich midrange, and clean, smooth highs
High-gain and low-noise characteristics
Rich even-order harmonic distortion when driven into overdrive
Each tube is meticulously measured for all critical parameters of performance including transconductance, gain, noise, and microphonics

It is truely one the best tube in the mid range budget. I had been using this tube for 2 years, just bought them again. Low, mid, high sounds are all very good.

i reviewed the below review but it not accurate. i didn't do a direct comparison A to B for the 12ax7 preamp tubes like in this review. i tried the black diamond Telefunken, Genelex b759,Tung Sol, jj 12ax7 an i can tell you the Telefunken by far sounds the best, clean, clear with excellent gain, 3d sound, good bass. Telefunken got everything right then Genalex comes in second almost as good as Telefunken but Telefunken is cleaner. Genelex got a smidge more bass than Telefunken. then the tong sol which was also good, then the jj 12ax7 . i will be trying the psvane art t3 12ax7-s but it hasnt got here yet. psvane might be better than the Telefunkenn black diamond. we will see.I hope i can save some people some time an money. the Telefunken was the most money then Genalex, i guess you get what you pay for. i compared in a Willsenton r800i class A set 50w x 2 amp.

I believe it is. I changed out the tube in my preamp before even using it. It is the Telefunken equivalent to a 12AX7 which is a industry standard preamp tube. Telefunken has been in the high end audio tube business for many many years. I just believe this is the best preamp tube available. The tube i had pulled out was supposedly a selected Chinese 12AX7. Although I do not have the measuring equipment to measure any differences, I am completely satisfied with the ECC83.
