A backpack for the long haul with a convenient side access camera compartment for when opportunity knocks are two reasons to consider the black Fastpack BP 150 AW II   from Lowepro. The BP 150 AW II features three, padded, zippered compartments for storing and protecting your gear. The top one is for personal items such as headphones, clothing, and snacks. A rear compartment is for holding an up to 11" laptop and tablet. While the side compartment is for storing your DSLR camera with attached lens and 1-2 extra lenses or flash units.

Configure the side compartment for your photo gear with the three, included, padded dividers. Small items such as flashlights, sunglasses, cables, pens, cellphones and a wallet may be stored in the five slip-in pockets located inside the top compartment. Next to these pockets is a lanyard with a swiveling clip for your keys. A tall, stretch-mesh pocket on the right side of the bag can hold a water bottle or a tripod/monopod. An adjustable strap above this pocket is used for securing the top of the tripod/monopod.

The Fastpack features a shoulder harness with a chest strap and a removable waist belt. The chest strap and waist belt each provide greater comfort and stability with heavier loads, and longer treks. When traveling with rolling luggage, use the quick-release straps on the back panel to secure your Fastpack to a trolley handle. And should inclement weather approach, simply deploy the built-in, all weather cover to safeguard your gear.

Fastpack BP 150 AW II (Black) is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 39.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fits under airline seats perfectly! Used this for a quick trip to Clearwater FL. It fits your TSA bag of toiletries and a few personal effects in the top easily. I rearranged the dividers and had my D750 with mounted 24-120, and 14-24, spare battery, cleaning kit, cards and caps. It was a tight squeeze but did fit. Fits an iPad no problem, but paper and magazines are too wide. Fit under the seat in the cabin perfectly. Verdict, great companion for quick trips with a few essential pieces of gear. For longer trips I will stick with its big brother, the Fastpack 250.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from in the end it does the job. When I got it and opened up the camera area, I thought I had made a terrible mistake. However, after removing all the dividers (and later inserting one) I discovered I could fit my Nikon D750 with a lens mounted -- either my 28-300 or 24-70 -- and also fit whichever one wasn't on the camera. The side slot for an ipad and small computer is very useful. I use it for my iPad and a field guide. The water bottle / tripod holder works well for a water bottle, but I have my doubts about a tripod. The other storage spaces work well, but dividers in the large top space would be useful. And finally, it is very confortable to wear. I have worn it out in the woods for hours at a time.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A good value backpack. This backpack does the job it's made for. Instead of a large, sloppy grab bag, it's small enough and well organized enough to hold just what it needs to in the way of a basic DSLR kit (I'm using a D7100 with a 18-300 zoom attached) plus space for an attached shoulder strap, sb-700 flash, bulb blower, portable battery pack, extra cam batteries, mini hard drive, and other goodies. Nice touch having three zippered pockets of various sizes for basic accessories and things to carry; everything from a good-size paperback in the big pocket to secure enclosures for SD cards, small cables, stamps, coins, keys or what have you. Balances well and looks sharp with nice design accents and fully padded shoulder straps.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My favorite bag! Bought it at B&H few days ago, spent the last few days walking miles in NYC. My best bag I own (and I got 4-5 bags...). It fits my canon 70D with canon 17-55mm, canon 10-18mm, canon 70-200mm F4 and canon 24mm F2.8 STM. It feels very light and I was walking today around 10 hours... You can shoot in seconds, just open the side, take a shot, get it back and you are done. It also fits with a coat, or little shopping I made :) My 12 Lenovo laptop fits in and my Manfrotto BeFree tripod, plus 2 bottles of water on the other side. I love the rain cover that I used today and all the small pockets that you can use for other photography accessories, mobile phone and power bank. Soon I will do a full review on youtube

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent backpack! This is what I carry in my gear bag: 1 Pentax K-5IIs 1 Fuji X10 compact camera 1 Samsung S3 cellphone 1 Samsung Galaxy Mega cellphone/tablet hybrid Keys| Wallet| First Aid supplies 2 Home Depot Gel Knee Pads I upgraded from a Lowepro Compu 250 camera bag, being a female with a small frame this backpack fits perfectly. Not sure if you can really squeeze a 15 laptop since it will be a very tight fit but any Samsung Tablet or IPad will fit perfectly. I mostly shoot skateboarding so my gear bag has to be rugged.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great compact camera backpack I love the side zipper pocket that allows me to pull the camera out of the backpack without taking it off and unzipping the whole thing. The velcro, adjustable compartments are perfect for arranging my camera accessories. And the compartment for personal items in the top is great. I was a little surprised by how narrow the backpack was - I assumed it was the size of a normal backpack, but I think it will work just fine.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Bag I have many photo bags that are fine for specific outings but I needed one for an upcoming extended trip to Europe. I wanted one that would handle a Nikon D750 with a mounted 24-120mm f4 lens, a 50mm f1.8 lens, various filters, batteries, cards and a small meFoto tripod. I also needed the bag to have room for an iPad, snacks, water, guidebooks, and various other personal items. I have the larger version of this bag but it seemed too big. I have a sling bag about this size but the weight on one shoulder gets bothersome so I wanted a backpack arrangement. I think this one will do the trick. Although I have not taken the trip yet I packed it with all of the contents I expect to include and it feels good. It's just the right size on my back (I'm 5-11) and seems like it will be easy to carry around on the planes, trains, etc. and daily throughout the month long trip. I have several Lowepro bags and love the quality of workmanship. This bag seems to have just the right number and placements of compartments. Also, unlike so many bags the rain pouch actually is easy to put on! The shoulder straps are well padded and there are also waist and cross straps to help secure and distribute the load if needed. If you slip one arm out its easy to get the camera in and out of the side access compartment just like with a sling bag. All other bags seem to have one thing or another that seems awkward or that don't work well. So far there is nothing about this bag I don't like. The true test will be on the trip but my gut tells me this will be just the right bag.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Decent Bag I purchased this bag specifically to use during a weekend in Walt Disney World during which I brought my D7100, Sigma 18-35 f1.8 and 55-100 f2.8 lenses, and a few other small photo essentials. Usually I only bring one lens to walk around with but this was a special event and I needed more gear. I found that regardless of which lens was on the body, there wasn't enough room for the body in the small part which it is meant to sit in. The center column which is meant for the lens that is protruding from the camera fit with the 18-35 f1.8 just fine, but with the part that the body sits in being so narrow, the body created a bulge in the bag when zipped closed. While the 50-200 f2.8 was attached and in the same space, it was a tight squeeze with an even bigger bulge. There are 3 main compartments in the bag. One on the left which is very, very thin. One in the center designed for the body + lens, and one on the right that can be configured for a large lens, or a couple tiny lenses or other combination of things. The 18-35 f1.8 fit perfectly in this space with the additional inserts removed. The 55-100 f2.8 didn't fit at all without detaching the Velcro at one end. It's worth noting that I measured this gear before purchasing and according to the specs on this bag, everything should have fit. It did not. In addition to the camera gear compartment, I carried misc personal items in the top storage compartment such as headphones, keys, and other misc items. I carried an Oben carbon fiber tripod (small) using the side tripod pouch and strap. I am not a huge fan of the pouch as it feels a little flimsy, it's too deep (only the tripod legs need fit in), and I feel like it will stretch out and tear with minimal use. It's also worth noting the piece of material that the tripod strap runs through is very soft unlike my other Lowe Pro bag which has a hard, bulky piece in this place. The iPad section is nice and I loved being able to carry my iPad with me. It is well thought out and designed to fit perfectly. I do like the overall design and size of the bag, but was disappointed my gear was a very tight squeeze inside. I'm not a fan of the tripod section and even with the rest of the bag constructed pretty well, I feel like it makes the whole bag feel flimsy. I would certainly recommend this bag but wish those few minor things were fixed.
