Works great as an extension cable with my Nikon oem remote shutter button, allowing me to walk around the project to adjust everything before taking the shot.

Works fine

The cable works fine, but, perhaps because it's new, it takes quite a bit of pressure to engage the threads on the Nikon release to those on the extension. No complaints, though.

Is this compatible with Nikon D850 and Shutterboss II? I can't seem to get it to work when connect to extention. Not sure if I am doing something wrong.
Asked by: Susan
Yes, it should work. Try the connection again and if no luck, you may want to exchange it for another cable.

I see this is compatible with the Nikon MC-30A, but what about the MC-30?
Asked by: Sean
Yes, the Vello 10' Remote Shutter Extension Cable for Nikon 10-Pin Connection is compatible with both the Nikon MC-30A and the original MC-30. Both the MC-30 and MC-30A use Nikon’s standard 10-pin remote terminal, and the Vello extension cable is specifically designed to work with any device that uses this 10-pin connection.

I have had not issue with the Vello Remote Wired Shutter Release. However I can not get it to work at all with the 10' extension option. I can see no clear Alignment marks and I agree it's probably something this simple But I've tried everything I can, included Seating and reseating the cable. Is there a alignment mark Im missing?

Welcome to the club. I purchased this cable and could not connect it to the Vello Wired Release. Sent it back to B&H and got a replacement promptly. Had the same problem again. There are indeed notches in the fitting that need to be aligned, I did that, but could not get the threads on the Remote to engage with the extension cable. I'm convinced Vello has a manufacturing defect. I know that some have been successful but I guarantee that they wouldn't be with either of the two that I've received in the last couple of weeks. I've given up on trying to use the extension cable.

Can you link two or more of these together?

The Vello 10' Remote Shutter Extension Cable for Nikon 10-Pin Connection has not been tested when linked with 2 or more extension cords. However if more range is needed, a wireless remote such as this Vello Micro would cover up to 328 feet: https://bhpho.to/2qRcBtr

question

could i use this with the nikon d5?
Asked by: Clayton B.
I use the the 10 pin extension cable because I couldn't use the sync cable (both didn't fit together). The extension cable rotated the 10 pin remote so that I could use both the flash sync cable and remote release cable at the same time. I'm not familiar with the D5. If it has a 10 pin socket, it should be okay.
