Century C+ Stand with Turtle Base and Grip Arm Kit (10.5') is rated 4.9 out of 5 by 89.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Brilliant I've been a location/event portrait photographer for 25 years. To be honest, I never heard of C stands, nor could tell you what the C stood for. I needed heavier stands for my mono lights when used outdoors. We had been using typical kit stands with 25lb plates for stability. I saw these while in BH. Brilliant. Absolutely stable! They hold a Hensel mono, soft-boxes/umbrellas, battery packs, etc. beautifully. In addition they have also replaced my Manfrotto Super Boom for certain shoots where the 4' boom is enough. The removable base is a nice feature when packing or storing for the next event.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Stand C stand isn't as heavy as I thought (a good thing) It is very sturdy. With a 36 foldable octa with AB light extended with the gobo arm all the way out and at full stand extension, it does bend slightly along the whole height. I wouldn't advise this for use, but you really shouldn't do that anyway. Also the plug in the gobo arm had to be removed for me to fasten my lights on it. Not a big deal since the inside of the tube is coated so I am not concerned with rust or debris. All knobs and connections are industrial and sturdy. The grips work amazingly even holding tight the wrong way. If you are looking for a first Cstand buy this one like me you wont be disappointed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best in the business Matthews is among the top names for lighting and grip equipment. Their C-stands are time-tested. I've used less expensive brands, which are fine for occasional use. If you want the most rugged, battle-proven stands in the business go with these. One of the biggest differences between the Matthews and other brands is the knuckle or grip head. Lowest cost units aren't as smooth and sometimes freeze up. I've had to hit these other brand heads with a wrench to free them up. If you work a lot and/or appreciate fine craftsmanship, go with Matthews. If you only use C-stands occassionally, you can probably get by with the lower priced unit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This C-Stand gets the job done! I use this C-Stand to mount an Elinchrom Freelite A head with a variety of modifiers ranging from a 16 sports reflector to a 5-foot octabank. I trust this C-stand to get the job done, and safely. In many situations, I don't even feel the need to use sandbags. I have even used this stand to boom a 5' octabank 10' high (automotive shoot) with sandbags and no assistant. It really is that solid.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A definitive, yes! Yes, this stand is awesome. Yes, it’s worth every penny. Yes, you need to purchase theMatthews 6" Pin with Collarseparately(B&H#MAP6C / MFR#429599). And yes, it’s worth spending a bit extra to get the removable Turtle Base. So what are you waiting for?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid Investment This is a stout, well built, and sturdy stand. I like that the feet detach for easy storage and transportation. The top section connects to the base extremely well without any play. Considering the cost of the equipment attached to the stand, the slightly higher price is worth it. The quality ensures that the stand is easy to set-up, adjust, and work with, which allows me to keep my focus. If you hate fighting the gear to make it work, then you'll most likely be extremely happy with Mathews. I will be buying more as needed. Thanks to BH for the great service!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Professional Grade C-Stands These are professional grade c-stands. They are heavy duty and made to last virtually forever. Being that they are heavy duty, you can place large lights and other equipment on them without the fear of them coming apart or bending, etc... We still use sand bags for safety, but the stands are heavy enough for most anything without adding the extra weight. All the parts are designed with longevity and ease of use in mind.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Makes me feel legit Even though I just spent $Thousand$ on cameras, lenses and audio gear, it's this thing that makes me feel legit in front of clients. Haha. I've always wanted my own C stand.
