This kit provides a stable camera support with a load capacity of 11 lb. It extends from 3.5" to 71" and weighs 6.1 lb. The included 322RC2 grip ball head offers a unique way of quickly unlocking, moving and locking your camera in place, and allows the camera mounting assembly to be positioned for left or right handed operation. To quickly reposition the head you simply grip the head to move the camera, and as soon as you release the grip it locks securely in place. The head features 360° panning, -3°/ +90° lateral tilt, and -90°/ +90° front tilt.

Manfrotto MT055CXPRO4 Carbon Fiber Tripod

The Manfrotto MT055CXPRO4 Carbon Fiber Tripod is a 4-section support that replaces the 055CXPRO4 tripod. It has a load capacity of 44 lb and extends from 3.5" to 67". Its carbon fiber legs are secured by the Quick Power Locks. These updated flip locks increase the tripod's rigidity by 50% compared to its predecessor.

A redesigned center column has a "one finger" operation, and includes an Easy Link 3/8"-16 attachment for attaching accessories such as an LED light or a reflector via a compatible arm. The center column can be positioned horizontally, allowing for low-angle and macro photography. The upper disc where a tripod head is mounted has been redesigned as well, and now has a bull's eye bubble level that rotates 360° so you can locate it where you can see it. This allows you to level your camera on both the horizontal and vertical planes.

Manfrotto 322RC2 Ball Head with 200PL-14 Quick Release Plate

The 322RC2 Ball Head from Manfrotto can be attached to tripods or other support systems that feature a 3/8"-16 mount. By squeezing the control handle's integrated trigger, the head's ball-and-socket joint can be quickly swiveled, angled, fully tilted, or returned to its upright position. A thumbwheel set within the control handle can be rotated to apply tension control to the ball-and-socket joint's movements. Once the squeeze trigger is released, any adjustments to the position of the ball-and-socket joint are locked into place.

The control handle is initially oriented to provide a horizontal grip for the right hand. However, the included 322RA Quick Release Adapter with 200PL-14 Quick Release Plate are detachable and can be repositioned to enable left-handed use with a horizontal grip. Alternatively, the 322RC2 can be transformed into a joystick-grip ball head suitable for right or left-handed use with the control handle oriented vertically and the quick release adapter attached to the top of the configuration. The 322RC2 has a load capacity of 17.6 lb.

Cameras or accessories that are compatible with a 1/4"-20 mount can be connected to the quick release plate, which measures 1.7 x 2.1 x 0.4" and has a rubberized, non-slip surface.

I'm looking for a tripod that will support a Nikon 500mm F4 on a gimbal that won't break the bank. Is this tripod stable enough for that lens?

Please take a look at the following 2 links below. The Manfrotto 028B Tripod Let and the Wimberly WH-200 Gimbal Head. This will work for the Nikon 500 with the Nikon DSLR. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/554068-REG/Manfrotto_028B_028B_Studio_Pro_Triman.html + https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/404536-REG/Wimberley_WH_200_Gimbal_Type_Tripod_Head.html?sts=pi

question

Can i add padded holders for the legs ? I have seen tripods having that so you do not feel the legs freezing when you are shooting in winter. Thoughts..! Suggestions..!
Asked by: German R.
Hi there, I personally don't use padded holders but I see no reason why you shouldn't be able to fix some on the tripod. Hope this helps.

question

I need a good stable, travel tripod for wild life photog. I currently have a Nikon D800e with Sigma 150-600mm Sport lens and Manfrotto/Bogen 3421 gimbal. I am also 5'7 and cannot bend forward for any length of time so tripod needs to be tall enough with very little center column extension. I typically shoot beyond 500mm on my lens. Will this tripod excel for me or is there another model? Thank you.
Asked by: Dennis L.
I purchased this tripod at the end of February and have been totally happy with the decision. It is a very stable tripod. I have used it with my Canon 70-200L lens and it has worked very well. I am not familiar with the gimble support you mentioned but I think the tripod would work well for you. When spreading the legs out it takes a little practice to get the hang of it. I have found that you need to back off the legs slightly to get the leg latches to release in order to spread the legs to the next position. If you purchase the four section leg model you should have more than enough height without extending the center column. The tripod is very light and easy to carry in the field. With your big lenses I might suggest that you hang your camera bag from the built in hanger for additional stability although I have not found this to be a problem. The tripod is very stable by itself. As I also own one of Manfrotto's professional studio tripods (which is quite heavy) I have found this to be an exceptional tripod for the field and carrying to various sites. You will not be disappointed with this tripod. Construction is rugged and will hold up well in the field. I hope this helps you.Jim

question

Could you please tell me the major differences between MT190CXPRO4 and MT055CXPRO4? Thanks
Asked by: Anonymous
The main difference between the 190 and 055 tripod series is the load capacity. The 055 is the next series up from the 190, and has a larger load capacity. The MT190CXRPO4 has a load capacity of 15.4 lb, while the MT055CXPRO4 has a load capacity of 19.8 lb. The MT055CXPRO4 is also slightly taller (Max height of 66.9 vs. 63).

question

Greetings! I have a Really Right Stuff BH-55 ballhead, which would pair up very nicely with this tripod, except for one thing: the BH-55 has a 2.9 base diameter, which would appear to cover the bubble level on the Manfrotto's plate. What is the diameter of the circular top plate on the MTO55CXPRO4, and if smaller that 2.9 , is it possible to have a larger-diameter plate? Thanks! Alain
Asked by: Anonymous
The diameter is approximately 2 inches. The plate cannot be switched out for another.
