Once connected, is the sound from the TV speaker silenced where only the person with a headset can hear the TV?
The Sennheiser RS 195 Digital Wireless Headphone System comes with an optical cable to go from the optical audio output on your TV into the transmitter. Once you have done that, you can go to the audio settings and output the audio through the optical output and it will silence the internal speakers on the television, sending audio only to the transmitter.

How many headphone units can be connected at once?
The Sennheiser RS 195 instruction manual says, You can connect up to two paired headphones simultaneously with your TR 195 transmitter. If more than one pair of HDR 195 headphones are connected to the transmitter, you cannot make use of the personal hearing profiles in order to improve the listening situation. The hearing profiles can only be used with one pair of HDR 195 headphones. I could not find additional HDR 195 headphones for sale separately on the websites I checked, so I have not tried using two pairs at once. I have some high-frequency hearing loss. This comfortable and convenient digital wireless listening system has excellent maximum volume and no background noise that I can hear using the supplied optical cable connected to the TV's digital output. It has dramatically improved my enjoyment of watching streaming HD movies on TV with all voices enhanced while my wife listens to speakers set at a normal volume that is too low for me to understand the dialogue. We enjoy watching movies together again!Wayne
