Why Not buy a $8.00 usb 3 cable to ssd /hdd aka sata cable I believe its called? Why is this $75? Does it do something that cable doesn't?
I bought the Powered Docking Station after not figuring out how to export from the Ninja without it. The only output I found on the Ninja was an HDMI, and I couldn't figure out how to convert HDMI out to the USB input on my laptop. So I purchased the Dock and it works fine.

Why does it say USB 3.1 2.0 and 2.0A and the specs say only USB 3.0?
It is tough to see at first, but If you look at the photo you will see it has a pair of USB plugs, once is rated up to USB 3.1 and the other 2.0. The reason it has a 2nd USB connection is some older computer models may require both ports to be connected for sufficient power.

question
Transfer rate on this thing seems slow. 500 mb/s SSD drive does not seem like the bottleneck. What is the transfer speed on this thing? Is there something I need to do differently? Seems much slower than transferring footage off of an SD card. Windows says it's transferring just under 50 mb/s ... so slow.
Hello Aaron J, for it to be 50 mb/s it has to be your drive which may not have a USB 3.0 interface. our Dock has USB 3.0/2.0 backwards compatible that is why it still works but I'm almost certain it is the SSD/HDD you are using.
