Dracast DR-90 Overview

This Dracast Dual Battery and Charger Kit includes two 14.8V, 90Wh lithium-ion Gold-Mount batteries ideal for lightweight, run-and-gun setups, and a simultaneous dual-battery charger offering an XLR output for continuous power. Each battery also features a P-Tap output for powering accessories.

The batteries are lightweight at approximately 2 lb and are designed with an ergonomic, ridged finger grip in the middle for better handling during swaps. A 5-LED array on the side of each battery indicates the remaining battery life.

The charger is equipped with a carry handle for convenience during transport and an on/off switch that gives you more control over the available power. The charger can be used off of stored power or while plugged into a wall. It also features LED indicators on the side that specify whether the connected batteries are charging or whether the charge is complete.

Dracast 90Wh 14.8V Li-Ion Gold Mount Battery

The Dracast 90Wh 14.8V Li-Ion Gold Mount Battery is a memory-effect-free battery for professional camera systems. It features built-in electronics to protect the battery during charging and use, charger is not included with the battery. The 5-LED battery system provides an indicator that shows you how much capacity the battery has left before it needs to be charged. It incorporates a D-tap power outlet, so you can power accessories directly, instead of through your camera's electronics. With an operating temperature range of -4 to 122° F, the battery will keep working even in deep cold and extreme heat.

90Wh Li-ion professional mount battery pack does not suffer from memory effect, common to NiCd batteries.

The built-in LED battery gauge provides you with a clear visual confirmation of the battery's capacity.
The built-in D-tap connector allows you to power accessories directly from the battery, protecting your camera's electronics from potential damage due to power hungry accessories.
The battery incorporates electronic protection from over-charging, over-discharging, over-current-draw, external short-circuits, and non-equilibrium between its power cells.
The battery will operate in temperature extremes that are uncomfortable for most people. Please note that as a general rule, battery capacity decreases as the temperature gets colder. Check your owner's manual for instructions on charging cold or hot batteries.
An attached rubber cover protects the D-tap connector when not in use.

The portable DR-CH2A Dual Gold Mount Battery Charger from Dracast allows you to simultaneously charge two Gold Mount batteries (or a single battery) from 90 to 240 VAC sources. It features a top handle for easy transport and built-in capacity management system to ensure fast charging. The charger will automatically shutdown once the batteries reach their full charge. Additionally, the charger can function as a portable AC to DC power adapter, taking the AC power input and outputting 15 VDC at 4A via a 4-pin XLR connector. The output is only active when no batteries are attached.

Gah, so pricey. Somehow, 2 batteries and a charger cost more than my entire Dracast light kit??! Works well though, paid for itself the first time I’ve used them. I have no trouble getting them to lock into place, they just require a little push to click them in.

I can't actually tell you if the battery is any good because it did not come with a charger and was dead upon arrival.

This was a great purchase. The Dracast battery is more compact that some other options which is nice. The charging station charges quickly and is easy to store.

I tend to use large v mounts for work because they last longer, but occasionally I need to have a few small ones under 100AH For travel to meet the TSA requirement. I Shoot mostly on the Sony Fs7 and these Dracast batteries are the perfect size for this camera, also nice and light for hand held shots. The beauty of this bundle is you get a nice light weight charger that you can travel with as well as a battery. I picked up a second battery- and now I have a little travel power package- although be forewarned even though this charger doubles as an AC power supply, it makes it useless if you need to record sound.

I got these for my Dracast LED lights and they are perfect. �The batteries have a gauge on the side to see how charged they are and the charger is compact and lightweight. The only thing to be careful of is that it is so light weight that if you don't have both batteries charging (or when you remove one) it is very unstable and almost fell off my desk.

I got this set to work with my FS7 and they have been great so far. The batteries are a lot smaller than I expected but thats ok they still pack enough punch and I like to keep a low profile anyways.

This was the perfect accessory to my Dracast lights. I do a lot of on location video and photos. And running an extension cord from a power adapter just doesn’t say professional. Now I can set up anywhere. The charge holds for what seems like forever and there is no drop in quality of the LEDs. If you want to be mobile and versatile. I highly recommend getting the batteries.

Very easy to use, small fold able legs at the bottom of charge make it sturdier and convenient to place, charges batteries fast and shows progress of charge with LED indicators. Have yet to use the batteries on a shoot, but would like to believe that they will perfectly do what they are meant and designed to do.

According to Dracast, the D-tap voltage is 12 volts and unregulated. This actually is the usual arrangement for a D-tap across the industry.

If the red one has a V-mount where you can put a battery, then yes, it will work. If the red one does NOT have a V-mount where you can put a battery, then this MIGHT not work. However, if there is an optional power connection on the red one, and if it matches the connector barrel on our D-Tap cable, then you MIGHT be able to use this battery with the red one. Will a v-mount battery on this charger power a different brand light, specifically an Aputure LED light (Amaran 200D) via XLR cable? Looking to power in remote location, no AC plugs.

The charger in that kit is Dracast DR-CH2V Dual V-Mount Battery Charger. It is made to charge batteries. With batteries in the charger it does not plug into any light. But it can charge different V mount batteries.
