Canon Rebel T5 overview

  • 1Description

Combining a pair of zooms with a versatile DSLR, the EOS Rebel T5 DSLR Camera with 18-55mm and 75-300mm Lenses Bundle from Canon includes the sleek camera, two lenses covering wide-angle to telephoto perspectives, and a padded gadget bag for holding all of the kit components.

The Rebel T5 features an 18 megapixel APS-C-sized CMOS sensor and DIGIC 4 image processor to produce high resolution still imagery and full HD video recording with notable low-light sensitivity to an expandable ISO 12800. In addition to the bright pentamirror optical viewfinder, a 3.0" 460k-dot LCD monitor is also available for image monitoring and review as well as menu navigation. Scene Intelligent Auto mode can be employed for optimizing camera settings to best-render the scene at hand and a helpful Feature Guide can also be employed to display a simple description of each camera mode and function to aid in learning the intricacies of the T5.

Included with the camera body is the standard zoom EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS II lens, which provides a 35mm-equivalent focal length range of 28.8-88mm. One aspherical element is incorporated within the optical design to help minimize chromatic aberrations and an Optical Image Stabilizer system has also been integrated to reduce the appearance of camera shake. Extending the combined zoom range even further, the EF 75-300 f/4-5.6 III lens is also included, which offers an equivalent focal length range of 120-480mm. Well-suited to use with distant subjects, this lens utilizes a DC autofocus motor to acquire precise focus while the telephoto perspective is especially useful for visually compressing the space between subjects and producing a shallow depth of field.

  • EOS Rebel T5 DSLR Camera with 18-55mm Lens

The Canon EOS Rebel T5 DSLR Camera with 18-55mm Lens is an 18MP APS-C format DSLR camera with a DIGIC 4 image processor. It is paired with the EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS II lens, giving you a range of wide-angle to short telephoto focal lengths.

The combination of the T5's CMOS sensor and DIGIC 4 image processor provide high clarity, a wide tonal range, and natural color reproduction. With an ISO range of 100-6400 (expandable to 12800), you can shoot in low-light situations, reducing the need for a tripod or a flash. The nine-point autofocus system includes one center cross-type AF point to deliver accurate focus in both landscape and portrait orientations.

The lens features Canon's Optical Image Stabilization technology, which provides up to four stops of compensation for image blur caused by camera shake and slow shutter speeds. This helps to get clear, crisp images, even in low light situations. Aberrations are minimized thanks to an aspherical lens element, and a circular aperture renders pleasing out-of-focus areas.

Canon Rebel T5 reviews

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Loving IT This camera and lens set was recommend to me by my son. He told me it would be easy to learn how to take great picture and easy to use. He was correct on all accounts. The instructions explained the camera, SD card and charging. Once charge I started taking pictures right away and they have turned out better than I expected. The pictures were clear thanks to the auto focus feature. i purchased an extra battery with the so I don't miss out on any opportunity to show people the beautiful sites we saw on vacation. This camera is a must have and was recommend by a professional for easy of use and great pictures. Now I know why!!!!! Thanks Canon

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Digital Camera Pack...LOVE IT! Fantastic deal and a great bundle for beginners to serious folks who want DSL and HD photograpgy and movies...the kit comes with both medium/short range for close ups and a longer lens meant to capture the beauty of places from a bit away or get amazing close ups at concerts (if they let you in). I owned a Canon when I was a kid, but it used something called film. This one doesn't and stores millions of pics, which you can transfer to whatever device you like...the only caveat to this is I eventually went for the more expensive T6 because of the Wi-Fi ability to transfer pics without cables. Aside from that same camera.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I love it! I really enjoy using this camera. It doesn't have all the frills some of the higher dollar DSLRs do, but it does a great job for the amateur shooter. I especially like the creative auto function. Get some great shots with blurred background and all without having to shoot in aperture priority. Photos are not the sharpest, but will do for those who don't pixel peep! I would not recommend to someone wanting fast autofocus....especially slow in live view shooting mode.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Rebel T5 - Execellent Beginner Camera I decided to give SLR cameras another try. I figured the digital SLR cameras would let me learn how to use one without spending big dollars on film and developing. The T5 has optional on-screen tips to remind you what feature does what. The camera can almost teach you how to use it. Menus are intuitive. The Digial Photo Professional software that comes with the camera is worth cost alone. DPP can take images saved in RAW format and correct for distortions and aberrations caused by a given lens. The camera itself, can delete dust data from images that you take. I make sure I have lots of light and a fast shutter speed, and then I almost alwasy get pictures so sharp that it always makes me wonder in amazement.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Deal for the money My son had shown interest in photography and so I did some research and had some friends make recommendations. The Canon was one of the camera's that I was considering. This T5 has been a great camera for him and it has been fun to get back into photography as well for me. It takes great lo light pictures and the zoom of the 75-300mm lens is great! I would recommend this camera package to anyone who is getting started or just wants to get a great digital camera!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great starter camera package Bought this as a starter camera package for my girlfriend to shoot a wedding with, and to train her how to shoot. My 5Ds are too heavy and cumbersome for her right now so this was a great solution. The two lenses gave her a great deal of variety to learn how and why a lens affects image. By the end of the wedding she had shot 1200 photos and with wide eyes said, I understand why you love doing this so much. I want to go shoot more. The only downside is the speed of the lenses, but that's completely forgivable with the enormous overall value of the package. One weekend with this camera package did more to inspire a budding photographer than 3 weeks of me trying to teach her with a larger, heavier camera that she wasn't comfortable with.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Camera my Family and Friends have ever bought. I bought a Canon Rebel years ago from B&H and was very happy with the Product and the Service. A couple of years ago I purchased a newer model for my Daughter as a gift. Having never had a new camera before she became a fanatic and has won several contests at work. Her pictures, that were judged Winners, were enlarged and framed and displayed in her Corporate office. Recently I attended a Harley Motorcycle Rally in Maine and a friend was showing me his new camera. It was a Canon Rebel that he had purchased at B&H . So when it came time for me to upgrade it was a no brainer. Rebel from B&H.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This product was amazing!! I bought this bundle as a gift for a family member who wanted to get into photography on trips, travel etc. Right after the box was opened we immediately took a trip. This camera worked amazing! Very simple to use, great resolution and having all the accessories was an awesome addition! I would recommend this to anyone who is looking to begin their camera career. The camera alone is worth the price!! Very satisfied with the camera and delivery of service.
