Glidecam Devin Graham Signature Reviews

Finally, a glidecam for my Canon C100 Mark II

I had followed Devinsupertramp his work with Glidecam and fell in love with the gear. Just using a Glidecam HD-2000 landed me multiple jobs and my skills and a steadicam operator improved. Since then I've used a gimbal and explanded my horizons as a camera operator. Getting back to the Glidecam this one I wanted for years. Using the Glidecam HD-2000 I knew I wanted to upgrade and of course give my gear some rest. This one answered all my prayers so I bought it at a very great price. When it was first launched back in 2016, or 2017, don't quote me on that, lol, it was $800. Nowadays gimbals, drones, and everything steadicam is now the same price, sort of. But as of now buying at a sales price many years later it's still up to par with everything on the market today. The glidecam has intructions, the info about this glidecam is spot on, tutorials are very helpful. If you're starting out and really want to learn how to operate it, then give yourself some patience and absolute discipline. Because if you practice once a day for a whole month, trust me you will know your glidecam very well. And all your shots will be smooth and gliding. As for my uses, the canon c100 mark ii camera is a bit heavy for my HD-2000 and didn't want to push the limits. Even though it could hold my camera I just wanted to use an appropiate glidecam. It balances well, no trouble, and of course now I can output my camera for more accessories to out on it. Plus I really like operating a glidecam. I hope this helps, enjoy the glidecam.

So heavy as to be unusable without additional support parts

To be sure, it seems very well-made and of good quality. But the design is questionable. The weight of just the stabilizer (with no equipment on it!) is already too much to hold by the handle without my wrist burning and my shoulders, neck, and back cramping up. Imagine holding the weight of a small adult cat (8-9lbs) in a coffee cup with a 5 long handle—that's the experience of holding it with the camera on it. Without some additional parts (vest, arm support) it's simply not usable-as is. Wish that was noted somewhere.

Before I breakdown to Buy, I would like 2 things verified. 1st-The Case is included for $799.00 Right? Just making sure. 2nd- I would like to know the diameter of the hole in the handle at the mounting point for use with a Vest and Arm? I have been unable to find the diameter of the opening listed anywhere. Thanks
Asked by: Steve
Yes, the case is included. The diameter is not listed, however it works specifically with the Arm and Vest Kits that Glidecam produces. https://bhpho.to/3jdepWf

Will this work with the Panasonic HC-X1?
Asked by: Chris
Yes it will. The Panasonic HC-X1 weighs 4.4 pounds and this stabilizer has a load capacity between 2 to 12 pounds. It will work well with the HC-X1.

question

what's the best vest system for this glider? Also, is this better than a brushless gimbal?
Asked by: Divine
We would suggest this vest: Glidecam Smooth Shooter Support System B&H # GLSS These two items are designed for each other. As far as which is better, it depends on the shot which is the better tool to use. Glidecam is more affordable, more organic, more compact, less complicated and can do shots the other can't. A gimbal is more intuitive to use, more expensive, more complex and can do shots the other can't.

?Can you mount an IPAD pro on this Glidecam

?Can you mount an IPAD pro on this Glidecam
Asked by: Judith
The IPad Pro is not heavy enough to meet the minimum weight capacity of this gimbal (minimum payload is 2 lbs). You will need to add additional accessories (such as a filming case, tripod mount, lights, microphones, etc) to make the IPad heavy enough to work on this gimbal.
