The Impact Fabric Grid for Compact Octagonal Luxbanx is a 24" light modifier that attaches quickly to the softbox's recessed front via touch-fasteners. The 40° grid narrows the beam spread from your softbox to control spill light and add directionality similar to a reflector while maintaining a soft quality of light. Unlike unwieldy rigid grids, Impact fabric grids are extremely lightweight and fold flat for transport in the included carry case.

The whole point of a grid as a light modifier is to make the light more directional and focused. This grid doesn't really do that. The squares are slightly angled away from the center allowing the light to spread. You can even see that in the product photo. I'd estimate that the grid reduces the angle of light from about 160 to about 110-not all that much. It's a good thing it was free, otherwise I'd send it back.
This grid does exactly what it is supposed to do, It narrows the light coming off of the soft box, it's also very compact to carry
Who would have known, this fits perfectly with the Impact Luxbanx Octagonal 24. The grid also cleans easily, as I use my vacuum to clean off dust or cat fur.
When I received this grid, it came included with the impact Impact Luxbanx Compact Octagonal Softbox (24). I’m not sure if this is a permanent deal or if one day it would be no longer part of the bundle and you’ll might have to purchase it separately. A grid is a very necessary accessory if you want light control. This grid comes in a nice little nylon pouch. Most grids out there will just come with a noisy clear plastic cellophane bag. Nice touch in my opinion as it retains the shape of the grid inside the little pouch nicely folded while stored. This grid is very sturdy, no “tummy” look in the center when facing down and will stay flat and close to the softbox. This is important for the maximum effect of the grid allowing the light to travel correct and directional. The material is made of nylon instead of the usual fabric. I attached pictures included with this review. If you get a softbox, get the grid. If you don’t, you’ll be finding yourself ordering one really soon anyway. I purchased this modifier for my Impact 24 Octa soft boxes. Well, guess what... for so weird reason Impact doesn't make their modifiers to fit their own lights. Unfortunately, this never crossed my mind, and I dropped the box straight to the trash. Otherwise I would have returned these. Now I'm trying to figure out what to do to control the spill on my soft boxes. Boo Impact. Boo.
It is hard to complain about free stuff, as it was thrown in with my recent octa-box. It appears to have been sewn properly, and it is the right size. How will the velcro perform over time is the remaining big question.
I bought it to fit on a different brand beauty dish. It fits just fine.
