ONA Prince Street Reviews

My everyday bag when NOT my camera bag!

I LOVE my ONA Prince Street bag! people are sick of me saying I LOVE this bag so much!! the smaoke with burgundy leather is really classy looking, really beautiful. both straps are used and convenient. It is such a great size and fits everything I need in different scenarios. I use it as my everyday bag when I am not shooting, since I can fit my wallet, sunglass case, a hardcover/paperback book, ipad, cell phones (2), keys and misc stuff. I wear it crossbody and the shoulder pad makes it comfortable. As a camera bag, I can fit my D850 with a lens (normal, short telephoto, including my 24-70mm) attached perfectly when I take the back divider out, leaving room for some of my misc stuff listed above. perfect size, not heavy even when fully loaded. In a light drizzle, it holds up well since water beads or rolls off, but I would be wary of taking it out in a deluge since the flaps on the sides do not offer too much protection from water coming in at those gaps. My Billingham bags are better for wet weather since it covers all openings. The built quality is excellent! after years of use, it is going strong. I have 3 ONA bags and love them all!

Great with a few issues

Let's first address the obvious: you can get a good bag for a lot less money then this. That said, you can get a good camera for a lot less then a Leica so that's our market here. I have a Leica and this bag and am fine with what I paid. Now that's out of the way..It's a great bag. It holds a good amount for a walk around and is very well padded. In my opinion, it's too thickly padded and that's actually an issue. In the 6 years I've owned it, it still doesn't feel broken in but more like a box on my hip. The other issue I have with this bag is that the strap doesn't adjust properly. If you tighten it to a normal length the pad gets in the way of the buckle. I'm 6' but my 5'4" girlfriend has the same issue so I'd say this was a design problem. I basically just use it with the shoulder pad on my chest. Haven't brought myself to cutting it off but I probably should. Other then those real issues, I still love this thing and use it a good amount. I generally keep an M6, extra lens or two and my other pocket dump in here and use it as a walk around bag but it's also large enough to hold a dslr and lens or even my hasselblad 500 with room to spare. It's a very attractive bag and the leather is the real star here. Comparing it to some of the other "genuine" or even "full grain" leather bags, there is an obvious difference. This has a depth, hand feel and character to it that you only find in higher end products.

Really one of the best bags I've ever had in the past 15 years. Top-quality. Fits my Canon R6 without a grip with a 50mm mounted and still room for another lens and battery etc.

Ona Prince Street perfect bag.

been using the bowery for years and felt it was finally time to upgrade to a bigger bag. Love the look of this bag and it's so much roomier than I expected.

Gorgeous Bag

In keeping with the review title, I reiterate that it is gorgeous in look, feel and smell. That's great but it's also the kind of bag that may well have STEAL ME written all over it. It's a little smaller than I had expected but it seems to be able to expand to accommodate most of the equipment I'd want to carry in it. It's not for the professional packing large zoom lenses and telephotos but for my Leica and Sony A6000 series bodies and lenses it's fine. Just keep an eye on it when you put it down in public.

3 years and going

I've had this bag for 3 years now and while it hasn't been very far in the last couple years, it made some serious miles in 2019. I absolutely loved it when I got it and still do. Looking forward to making some more miles soon.

Perfect indiscreet camera bag

I really love this bag. Carry around a Hasselblad 907X CFV II 50C with a 45P lens on... And can spaciously place two other prime lenses in the bag with this camera, and even squeeze in a 13" MacBook Pro in the back with room to spare. For wondering around cities, it's indiscreet and allows me easy access to the camera when needed. No one really notices this bag when it's slung over my shoulder, which is a great way to carry 14,000 worth of gear around without drawing attention. The leather handle is rugged and allows me to snatch up the bag when in a hurry to catch the tube. Plus, if not needed, it can be removed easily. Was out in a heavy down pour in Wales the other day for 15 minutes while walking from the car to my place of residence, and the waxed canvas like material did a good job at keeping the water out of the bag and off the camera. The cunning flaps at the side help keep out any rain from entering the side. That aside, I did notice the back pocket (where I kept a USB-C cable) did get a bit of water in it. Not enough to soak through the inner material, but enough so I wouldn't wonder around the city for an hour in a torrential downpour and expect this bag to keep dry. That said, I have yet to test this assumption. My only two gripes with this bag is that the front pockets, while they can easily hold three batteries and store lens caps and a filter in, there's not a lot of room for the charger. Perhaps they could have made these front pockets slightly bigger? Also, the Hasselblad and two additional prime lenses are heavy and, while a shoulder pad is provided, it's not great, especially when slinging the bag around to one's front when wearing it so one can get the camera out. What I did was cut the supplied pad off and put on a chocolate coloured Billingham SP40 Shoulder Pad. Now I am happy with the bag, as it doesn't cut into my shoulder and I can walk the city at night for hours taking shots without drawing attention to my activities.

question

Should I go with leather or canvas? Leaving price and weight aside, what could I be overlooking when choosing one fabric over the other? Also, how well does the full leather strap feel in comparison to the seatbelt one from canvas?
Asked by: Allan
It really has to do with the look, honestly. Comfort wise both will be about the same. I actually like the look of the Canvas Models, but most customers go for the Leather. It's really up to your personal taste and interest.

question

Will this fit my 70-200mm?
Asked by: Laura J.
What they said. I love the bag. It's a little heavy (leather, after all), but a real looker. Carry full frame with mounted 24-70mm; room for other lenses; 13 macbk pro, chargers &c. One caveat: bag's not zipped, so in heavy rain, make sure the side flaps don't catch water and channel it into the bag!
