It really has to do with the look, honestly. Comfort wise both will be about the same. I actually like the look of the Canvas Models, but most customers go for the Leather. It's really up to your personal taste and interest.

I have both and prefer the canvas one. Functionally they work the same. The canvas has a coating that repels water. As for the strap they are equally comfortable. The main difference is the look you prefer and with what type of clothing you are going to wear with it. The leather one just looks more expensive/ fancier. The canvas one blends in and won't get noticed as much which is good when you are carrying around very expensive camera gear.
