The SABERTOOTH TUF X99 USB 3.1 Motherboard from ASUS is designed to fit in standard sized ATX cases. The 12.0 x 9.6" SABERTOOTH TUF X99 supports Intel Core i7 processors, the LGA2011-v3 socket, and the Intel X99 chipset. It has been designed to deliver power and speed to Internet browsing, extreme gaming, CAD software, and more. It also features a strengthened backplate and a flexible cooling system for increased stability. This motherboard is compatible with 32 and 64-bit editions of Windows 8.1, 8, and 7 operating systems. It also supports USB 3.1 which can achieve data transfer rates of up to 10 Gb/s.
The ATX form factor of the SABERTOOTH TUF X99 can support 64GB of RAM and comes with 8 x DIMM slots that can each hold 8GB of 288-pin DDR4 2400/2133 MHz non-ECC, unbuffered memory. The SABERTOOTH TUF X99 also has a total of 8 x SATA III 6 Gb/s ports, 1 x SATA Express connector, 1 x M.2 connector that only supports PCIe SSDs, 2 x USB 3.1/3.0/2.0 ports, 8 x USB 3.0 ports, 8 x USB 2.0/1.1 ports, 5 x audio jacks, 1 x S/PDIF out, and 2 x Gigabit LAN ports. To provide data redundancy, RAID 0, 1, 5, and 10 modes are supported and PCIe expansion is dependent on whether a 40 or 28-lane CPU is installed. When a 40-lane CPU is installed, users will have access to three PCIe 3.0/2.0 x16 (x16, x16/x16, x16/x16/x8) lanes. When a 28-lane CPU is installed, users will have access to three PCIe 3.0/2.0 x16 (x16, x16/x8, x16/x8/x4), one PCIe 2.0 x4 (x2 mode), and one PCIe 2.0 x1 lanes. While this motherboard does not have any video out ports, it does have multi-GPU support for NVIDIA Quad-GPU SLI technology, NVIDIA 3-Way SLI technology, AMD Quad-GPU CrossFireX technology, and AMD 3-Way CrossFireX technology.
The SABERTOOTH TUF X99 is designed to be a complete solution provider. To this end, it undergoes server-stability tests of over 7,000 hours and compatibility checks with over 1,000 devices. To help it achieve these standards, this motherboard is built with Thermal Armor and a flow valve to help optimize airflow and boost heat dissipation, as well as Thermal Radar 2, which is customized fan tuning to help tweak system cooling. TUF ICe is a microchip that helps deliver precise temperature monitoring and fan controls, and the TUF Fortifier helps improve rigidity and cooling behind the board, to help ensure that the motherboard won't collapse under heavy components. The TUF Fortifier also includes a thermal pad to help direct heat away from the VRM and other components.
VGA - X99 Thermal Radar 2's fan management has been expanded, so now you can control fans on ASUS graphics cards, as well as multiple case fans
Fan Control - With customizable settings for each fan, you can extend your motherboard's lifespan. You can even monitor, manage, and individually name and control your system's fans to create a balance between quietness, cooling, and performance Thermal Tuning - You can also choose to optimize the whole system's fan setup with a single click. Based on the characteristics of each fan connected to your motherboard, all fan profiles can be quickly optimized
Thermal Status - With thermal-status reports showing CPU and graphics cards zone temperatures in real-time, your system's fan control can be as precise as you like. Additional CPU thermal assessment gauges temperature rises with increasing voltage, providing a benchmark to judge your CPU cooler's performance
Recorder - Critical voltages, temperatures, and fan speeds are recorded over time, so you can review your system's history and make informed judgments for improved operation
DIGI+ Power Control - DIGI+ Power control helps provide power efficiency and stability that can help reduce wasteful voltage discrepancies and provide a more stable CPU and memory setup. TUF also offers precise memory tuning in addition to extra-accurate CPU voltage control
The TUF Fortifier also includes a thermal pad that directs heat away from the VRM and other components, which helps reduce operating temperatures by up to 43°F / 6°C
TUF Chokes is a heat-sink concept design that provides a larger heat-dissipation area
10KTi-Caps help provide +20% temperature tolerance and up to 5X longer lifetime usage
