JK Audio CELLTAP4C Overview

The CellTap 4C Wireless Phone Audio Tap Adapter from JK Audio is a passive device designed to allow you to record phone calls for interview and archival purposes. It's intended to be used in conjunction with a recording device or mixer.

Using a 3.5mm TRRS cable, you can route your phone's headset output into the Phone jack of the CellTap 4C. Then plug your TRRS-compatible headset into the jack marked, "Headset." Finally, connect the Record jack to a mic-level input on your recording interface or mixer to capture a stereo recording. The transformer coupled stereo output provides your microphone's audio on the left channel and the caller on the right channel, allowing you to split the signal and mix accordingly in a host DAW if you so choose. 

Note:
A TRRS headset is required for operation.

Works great - great quality audio recording. I also had a cable made (stereo 1/8" male to dual 3 pin XLR male) to get separate caller and receiver audio into separate tracks on my audio recorder. It comes with a male to male 1/8" cable for recording but my audio recorder doesn't have that input. Would recommend.

This device lets you record one audio channel for your mic and one audio channel for your earphones from your phone headset. This is exactly what I was looking for. I bought one to try it and I will probably buy one or two more as backups. I would recommend this to anyone who want's a proper audio recording of their phone calls.

Does this item include a TRRS to TRSS cable? Does it include any other cables? The "What's in the Box" section doesn't mention any included cables. Thanks.

They both provide you with a 3.5mm TRS and a 3.5mm TRRS cable in the box.

Can I use this to take live in calls during a livestream and connect the record output to my switcher audio input?

Thanks. I am looking for a very portable solution and adding a mixer is not something preferable at this time. Any other way I can take calls to a cell phone and send that to the switcher?

The CellTap 4C is compatible for use with cell phones that have a 3.5mm TRRS jack for connecting headphones with an inline microphone. Use a 3.5mm TRRS to 3.5mm TRRS cable to connect the phone's output to the "Phone" input on the CellTap and connect your headset to the CellTap's 3.5mm TRRS "Headset" jack. Use a 3.5mm TRS to 3.5mm TRS aux cable to connect the CellTap's "Record" output to your recording device or mixer.

The JK Audio CellTap 4C Wireless Phone Audio Tap Adapter could be used with computers that have a 3.5mm TRRS connection for input and output similar to the connection found on smart phones.

Yes, it works with a computer exactly the same way as with a phone, using the audio jack.
