This thing is not only an inconvenience for Elinchrom users (their modifiers should NOT require a separate adapter as an intermediary to couple to their strobes!), it also has me swearing like a sailor because whatever I do, I can't remove it from the Rotalux I attached it to. The whole unit just spins and spins and I can't change it out. Leaving Elinchrom and their cheap, poorly designed products for good.

If it is the pins you need to push down by the hole for them to come out. It is a feel thing the more you go at it the better it becomes.
Try not do it in a rush.

Both the ELC PRO HD 500 and ELC 500 monolights already have a Elinchrom EL mount, so the 27" Softlite can be fitted directly on them. The Quadra Reflector Adapter MK II is meant for heads such as the ELB 500.

Thinking of switching from Profoto D1s to Elinchrom ELB 400 w/ Quadra Pro heads. Do I need this adapter to mount the Quadra Pro heads onto Litemotiv Indirect 190 Octa? Or do the heads attach naturally?
Quadra heads attach to only the Quadra square/octabox and Quadra reflectors. Regular Elinchrom modifiers require the Quadra adapter. Elinchrom lists direct and adapter compatible modifiers in Light Shapers for the ELB 400.
