Elinchrom Quadra Reviews
Better Than Version 1
Trying to hold on to the discontinued Quadra 400 line. Bought this adapter and it does work better than version 1. The Quadra head to adaptor design is essentially has some flaws but I love the other elements such as small pack dimension and lithium batteries that I can fly with makes it a keeper. For how long, I'm not sure.
Does the job, but flimsy
Does the job in terms of converting a Quadra Q mount to a standard Elinchrom one. But for what it is, it's expensive and lightweight and plasticky. Suspect it will not stand up to much abuse or drops.
Great piece of gear
This is required to use any of elinchroms modifiers. I would elect to go this route than buy dedicated modifiers for this system.
Great service, awesome product
Awesome quality, great fit!
I bought this for my ELB400. It works very well and the tilt mechanism is very strong and doesn't tend to sink down with time or weight. The downside is it's a little bulky to carry around when you're trying to be lightweight and not carry a lot of gear.
Works ok, could be better built
I've had to buy one of these yearly to replace one that broke. The knob used to tighten it to a stand has to be under a lot of pressure for it to hold and not slip. That pressure eventually cracks the metal around it and renders the unit useless. It takes some practice before you can attach heads and light modifiers without much effort. It's a solution but not perfect.
Great product be careful on the sharp edges on strobe mount
Tried it with several rotalux soft boxes and Quadra RX Ranger Strobes and it is a great product. One thing that did not give a five star is that the new product edges are sharp and may cut you...So I have to file down and sand all the edges on the strobe mounting brace to prevent injury.
Critical piece for softboxes but expensive
Love the piece but you pay for it. I have two of these for mid-size softboxes and they work just fine.
