Could it be thicker, sure, but for this price, it's PERFECT. I would go easy stretching it in case of tearing, but really solid option for the price since you'd spend WAY more going to a fabric store and getting something similar.

What more can you say? I ordered and received a white muslin with a pocket for the crossbar and it's exactly what I wanted. The white is good, not faded. It will surely serve me well.

black rubs off when touched

You need to know that when you handle this muslin your hands will get black dye on them. Also if Model or your clothes brush against this material they will get black on them. I would not buy again.

Good quality but just know this will not totally black out a window reflection. I had a store front in back of camera and I was trying to completely black out the reflection of the store front on the opposite end glassed mural. It did not completely black it out. I ended up lighting the back mural like a copy shot and with no available light and this did work. Still this is a nice quality background and I am sure it might come in handy

It's on the thin side, but the stitching is compact, so it should still do the job. I may just be used to the older ones that were supposed to last for ever, but those are heavier and much less affordable.

I just purchased this Background, and I have a ...

I just purchased this Background, and I have a background support, but I can't seem to get the muslin to lay flat, it will always wrinkle or ripple no matter how I adjust it. Any suggestions on how to get it lay flat and not ripple?

The background should be pulled tauta across the background pole. It can further secured by using the Bessey Steel Spring Clamp (Black, 2 & 1/4 x 2") B&H # BEXM5B, placed every 2 feet.

Is the black fabric light proof?

If you mean Can I see through it, the answer is yes, it's a muslin, so that means it's a loose weave and light sources behind it will be visible. As the other answers below indicate, layering this with another piece of black muslin, or perhaps other colors, will reduce this effect to the point that light sources will not show through unless they're very powerful or there's a great deal of contrast between your shooting light level and the light level behind it.

Is this 24' wide or 10'wide?

I don't own this backdrop, but I plan to purchase it. My understanding, based on the product photo, and how this sort of backdrop is used, is that it is 10' wide and 24' long (high). The longer than normal length is used to drape on the floor beneath your subject, as they are positioned far in front of the vertical section of the backdrop (allowing the backdrop to be completely out of focus).
