Angler White Reviews

Nice quality of fabric, but there are wrinkles.

Shot with it once and didn't notice the wrinkles until I loaded the images into my editing software. I believe the fix is to using clamps.

Exactly as advertised

Could it be thicker, sure, but for this price, it's PERFECT. I would go easy stretching it in case of tearing, but really solid option for the price since you'd spend WAY more going to a fabric store and getting something similar.

What more can you say? I ordered and received a white muslin with a pocket for the crossbar and it's exactly what I wanted. The white is good, not faded. It will surely serve me well.

Seems to be of equivalent quality to Westcott

I own two Westcott stretchy fleece backgrounds (gray and chroma-green) and love them. Because the Angler backgrounds were on sale when I needed a 9'x10' white background, I gave it a try. The thickness and feel of the material seem to be of equivalent quality to the Westcott background, but the backing is slightly, but almost unnoticeably different. Both brands are easily stretched to remove wrinkles. Note: neither brand is thick enough to block strong background light from being visible on the opposite side, so plan to set them up against a wall, or block any offending lights. I actually like how the grommets allow a support rod to be placed above them making for a smooth hang (my Westcott grommets are on top of the bar insert pocket). Very pleased with the product and would purchase it again.

This lives on my studio wall near-permanently. I think any studio photographer needs to know white seamless.

I just purchased this Background, and I have a background support, but I can't seem to get the muslin to lay flat, it will always wrinkle or ripple no matter how I adjust it. Any suggestions on how to get it lay flat and not ripple?
Asked by: Joseph
The background should be pulled tauta across the background pole. It can further secured by using the Bessey Steel Spring Clamp (Black, 2 & 1/4 x 2") B&H # BEXM5B, placed every 2 feet.

question

Is the black fabric light proof?
Asked by: Robert S.
If you mean Can I see through it, the answer is yes, it's a muslin, so that means it's a loose weave and light sources behind it will be visible. As the other answers below indicate, layering this with another piece of black muslin, or perhaps other colors, will reduce this effect to the point that light sources will not show through unless they're very powerful or there's a great deal of contrast between your shooting light level and the light level behind it.
