As the Canon VIXIA HF R800 Camcorder uses 43mm filter threads and the Vivitar 52mm 0.43x Wide Angle Attachment Lens uses 52mm filter threads, the items cannot be directly connected to one another. You would need to purchase the Sensei PRO 43-52mm Aluminum Step-Up Ring, B&H # SESURPA4352, to connect the Vivitar 52mm 0.43x Wide Angle Attachment Lens to the Canon VIXIA HF R800 Camcorder. Otherwise, you may purchase a wide angle adapter designed specifically for the 43mm filter thread, such as the Pearstone DVP-WA07-43 0.7x Wide Angle Lens Attachment, B&H # PEDVPWA0743. It is not as wide as the previous Vivitar wide angle adapter, but it would not require the use of a step-up ring for attachment to your camcorder.
