GP-A-FS7 Gold Mount Adapter Plate for Sony FS7 Camera is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 6.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from A must have for your FS7 There seem to be a myriad of ways to power the FS7. You have the stock Sony batteries, V-Mount, the Sony extension unit, various plate options and this guy. It fits snugly to the camera and looks like it belongs on there. It is well designed and not too heavy. It would be nice if it was completely sealed from the elements, but you would really need to be in a sketchy environment to get anything into it- a small portion of the back is not sealed. The only downside is that it won't transmit time remaining on your battery to the camera as hours and minutes, It sends that info as volts, since it uses the DC input on the back of the camera for power.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Well-built but lacks one thing Unlike the Anton Bauer 3 stud plate, this one fits the camera well and securely. It is solid but has one design flaw in that it forces you to use a 4 pin power supply if you want to use AC instead of a battery. That's because the plate covers the camera's AC input and it does not include another appropriate connection for the AC power supply supplied with the camera. That supplied device is much smaller and lighter than 4 pin AC sources, so it is much easier to travel with and set up. If Switronix added that connector to this plate in addition to the 4 pin, people who don't own a 4 pin power supply could still use AC with it and that would make it perfect.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid! Nice replacement for my Tilta battery plate. Purchased for the DC in option for mains power if needed. The GP-A-FS7 is tall and sits closer to the camera then the Tilta battery plate and as I have the Tilta shoulder rig too I had to remove the back 15mm rail holders, no big deal... Allen wrench. Only thing: The back... or the inside of the plate, the part that faces the back of the camera... The back of the GP-A-FS7, the wiring is not sealed - not that I'm gonna' be standing in the rain but, just saying'. I do really like this plate it helps keep my ever-growing Frankenstein's monster of a camera somewhat more compact.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Overall, a good option. I purchased this as an alternative to the Anton Bauer brand plate due to some bad reviews I had read with the AB offering. This has a great build quality... its all aluminum with a standard AB plastic plate attached to it. XLR power port is in the aluminum portion, and is rock solid. The P-Tap ports are conveniently located (one on the right side and one on the top). Overall I think this Switronix plate is a good product... but there are a couple things worth mentioning. One complaint is on the included instructions it mentions attaching it with included thumb screws. Mine only came with regular allen head screws... which isn't a huge deal but the thumb screws would have been nice for quick tool-less swaps (I dont use AB batteries all the time... I often use the Sony BP style batteries). I emailed Switronix about it and quickly received a reply saying he would forward it to the service department, but after about 3 weeks I've received no further reply (I followed up a week ago but received no reply to that either). The adapter fits well (the two bottom studs slide into the slots on the FS7 perfectly, and the top holes for the screws line up well). But it doesn't quite cover the extension unit port up top like it should.... its hard to describe but it doesn't follow the same lines that the rubber cover does... it covers the top but there is a gap on the sides. With all the said, I would purchase this item again if I needed a 2nd one. The price seems a bit excessive, but it looks like even with the small complaints I mentioned, its still a much better option than the AB brand adapter plate.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works Great! Bought this after reading a few reviews about the Anton Bauer one I was going to get because people had problems with the Anton. This works great, plugged it in and bolted it on. I use my Anton Bauer Dionic batteries on it which helps with rear weight on the FS7. The Sony rear attachment was too expensive for me at the time so this works nice if you want to use gold mount batteries.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works well It is a good solution as a counter balance weight and external power for the FS7. It does not fit on the back of the camera if you are using a Camtree Hunt baseplate. I had to grind off the lower corners of the Switronic plate to fit around the baseplate.
