I own two of these Manfrotto friction arms, one on each camera. Love the size and the build quality. Payload is excellent for the size and they've been holding fairly heavy monitors with no issues. Also, great to have a tightening knob that's not round... it's easier to know how much to tighten. I used to have Noga Arms but they never seem to last... very happy with these ones!

Essential kit

I have one in my road video kit and it's fantastic. Great quality as you expect from Manfrotto and holds its tightness, something the cheap imitators never seem to achieve. Holds a surprising weight for its size.

I've only owned a few friction arms so far, but this is by miles my favorite. It locks so securely, with just a natural amount of turn, and unlike some others, I never feel remotely like I have to risk stripping the threads by over-tightening to get it to lock securely. This is also smaller (and sleeker), and therefore easier to pack into dedicated kits, and takes up less space when set up, leaving my hands freer to move without bumping the equipment. A little pricey, but you're paying for the excellent build quality.

This thing is strong. Holds my SmallHd external monitor to my Flowtech 75 no problem. The additional attachment is clutch. The tightening screw is easy to hold for good torque. A bit on the expensive side, but this will be my second attachment like this, I'm hoping it will be my last.

I use this arm for my Atomos. Mostly with my ronin and it performs flawlessly. Very easy to adjust and has a strong firm grip without having to tighten it down super tight.

used to connect monitor/lights to Easylink connector on my Manfrotto Tripod. The arm is very stable when tightened but it a little pricey. I had a cheaper 30$ arm that stopped working after a short period of time so this one seems like it will last longer and has Manfrotto warranty.

question

the photo shows 1/4 -20 studs installed on both ends, plus a loose 3/8 -16 stud. But, the description says one 1/4 -20 stud and one 3/8 -16 stud. Which is correct?
Asked by: Anonymous
The arm comes with two 1/4 fittings on it. The extra part is the 3/8 adapter, which you screw onto one end and attach to the tripod. I have the arm holding a 7 monitor and its works great. You tighten the clamp and it stays.
