Support up to 44.1 lb worth of gear with the TMA47AXL Extra Long Series 4 Mach3 Aluminum Tripod from Benro. Made from aluminum, the 3-section legs are secured via twist locks and extend to a maximum height of 85.1". The center column can be replaced with the included short column to allow the tripod to reach a minimum height of 18.7". The rubber feet can be swapped out for metal spikes so that the tripod can be used on hard surfaces, such as ice, or soft surfaces, like carpeting or a lawn. A ballast hook on the center column allows for the addition of stabilizing weight, and the included carrying case protects the tripod during transport. A 3/8"-16 threaded stud on the mounting platform lets you attach a head of your choice.

TMA47AXL Extra Long Series 4 Mach3 Aluminum Tripod is rated 4.9 out of 5 by 25.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product for the Price This tripod is amazing for the price. There is solid stability even at full length with the column extended. There aren't a lot of budget friendly tall tripods out there, so this is a perfect fit. A couple cons though... Con 1 The twist locks feel and sound as if the threading is scraping and possibly stripping. I am fairly confident it will be fine and last a while still. Con 2 The tripod bag doesn't fit my geared tripod head. It's a nice bag, but I will have to attach and detach my tripod head constantly because of this problem. The tripod bag is 36 in length fyi. Overall this tripod is perfect for landscape or architectural photography.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Rock solid and Beautifully Engineered Amazingly solid from just 18 inches off the ground to its full 7 foot height. That height opens up a new range of creative possibilities. The action is smooth, positive, and fast. The carrying case protects it well and looks very professional. I've had several other tripods, including one three times the cost of this one, but this is my favorite, by far. It's a LOT of tripod for the money. I use it with the best head I've ever had by far, an FLM CB 58 FT2, which handles a medium format camera with a large lens, no problem. They make a terrific combination.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Tripod, Thank you Benro. I use this product for Track & Field Timing and mount 10 lb. cameras on it outside in the wind and elements. This is a great tripod, has excellent stability with a wide base, especially like the weight hook and it's very strong and easy to setup and take down. Love the twist and lock legs. It's also surprisingly light to carry and comes with a nice carrying case to protect it between meets. The most important part for me though is the height, it extends to 85 inches and in my line of work is important to get a better angle on the finish line. The tallest, strongest, lightest tripod on the market for the best price. All around a fantastic tripod and great product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tall, stable, nice working tripod for studio I needed a tall stable tripod for some types of product shots and this fit the bill nicely. I am not a fan of selling our entire manufacturing base to China but this is a nice product. It has the height I need, it's stable at full height, and the leg locks and central column lock are smooth and positive. It is heavy but if it wasn't it wouldn't be as stable as it is. The price for a carbon fiber tripod this size was 4 times the price and I didn't want to spend that much. It's a great value.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from SOLID & TALL This is my 2nd Benro product & I am beyond pleased with the build & quality & performance. I got this originally because I do mostly wedding Cinematography & I am up front to the left. EVERYTIME the Officiant says Arise, or Please Stand as the Bride enters I only see heads. My goal was to capture the Brides processional. With a 7foot clearance with this tripod, I have no worries, I raise it up & it clears heads & captures the Bride. The packaging is superb. It comes with a case, & inside the case it has another bag it comes with. You can tell they take pride in their products just by the packaging alone!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great value What I like: These go really tall, are really light and cheap for their height, and hold my camera securely. Also they come with really nice travel bags and plenty of hardware, including a short post for someone who doesn't want or need the center post riser. Minor gripes: They have blue trim instead of being all black, the travel bags aren't big enough to put the head in with the legs. What could be better: the locking mechanisms are sortta cheap, I've already had them fall apart twice. Good thing they are easily fixed, but I'm worried that the thin plastic lock parts may eventually break completely and I'll have to replace them. These sticks are great for occasional or set and forget use like I use them. This wouldn't be so great for someone who is using them heavily in a mission critical capacity.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid, high quality, versatile. Not for lugging around. I spent months researching the perfect tripod. I read all the opinions that you can't get a good tripod for < $1000, and that buying an inexpensive tripod is only adding to the cost of the expensive one you'll eventually end up with. I decided to get this tripod with a Sirui K-40x for shooting near my house and my car. It's big and heavy, which are pluses in every circumstance where you don't need to carry it. I'm saving up for a carbon travel tripod for those times when I want to carry one with me. In the meantime, for a fraction of the price, I have a very good tripod. I'm not sure I see the sense in getting a carbon tripod this size unless you're carrying it around every day. For the difference in cost I could pay someone to tote the heavy aluminum tripod for me for at least a year of weekends. The leg locks operate firmly and consistently. The leg sections slide smoothly. At max height it extends over my reach, and with the center column swapped it goes as low as I'll ever need. It comes with metal spikes, swappable short and long center columns and all the tools and hardware necessary, all fitting in a perfectly serviceable carrying case. If you're belaboring which tripod to get, this makes great sense as a complement to a light, compact travel tripod. I don't recommend it as your only tripod unless you don't need to carry it (or you are training for an adventure race).
