This tripod is really well designed and extremely solid, even when you have the legs fully extended. I'm using it with a 4# spotting scope and it feels like the right tool for the job. I did a lot of research in selecting this unit. My main criteria included: Stability, height (without having to extend the center column much if at all), folded size. Sure it would be nice if it were a touch lighter but i think that's the price you pay for this level of stability.

Got it to pair with the 3 way geared head GD3WH. Feels sturdy and is a little on the heavy side as a result. Only downside is one of the screw on feet became unscrewed and was immediately lost. That's probably due to user error.

I want to attach the monopod leg to an Oben ...
I want to attach the monopod leg to an Oben leveling head but the female receptor on the head is either 3/8" or 1/4" - much too small to accept the large male screw on the monopod leg. What's the fix?
The Oben LH-2510 Leveling Base Head can fit the top of the monopod leg of the TMA28A, as the base plate of the tripod can be removed and added to it.
