Benro MAD38C Overview

Whether shooting with a long telephoto, in low-light conditions, or moving too fast to set up a tripod, the MAD38C Adventure Series 3 Carbon Fiber Monopod from Benro is a versatile shooting companion.

This support reaches a height of 62.4", closes down to 20.7", and supports 35.3 lb. Lightweight at just 1.1 lb, you'll barely know you're carrying it. Opening and closing the 4 sections is quick and easy with the flip lever lock design, and a pivoting rubber foot prevents unwanted slipping.

The closed foam grip gives you a secure hold on the monopod and also insulates your hands from the carbon Fiber on cold days. The mounting plate features a reversible 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 threaded mount for mounting a head or attaching directly to a camera.

I cannot loosen the bolt to change screw size despite the supplied tool. Apparently this is a known issue

Should have purchased sooner...

For the past four years, I've been asked to photograph the annual high school musical at my daughter's school, and I've gladly accepted. For this year's performance, I chose to purchase this monopod. I quickly realized the advantage of having my Canon 7D Mk II and 70-200 f/2.8 lens mounted on this monopod instead of raising and holding the camera to my face to capture those moments. The monopod allowed for easy movement in the dimly lit auditorium. It also provided the extra stability I needed. I highly recommend this monopod—it's well-built and easy to adjust on the fly.

Thank you Rob and Eric--I asked on the chat of the foot was removable, and the answer wasn't readily available. IA video chat appt was 2 days away and I will already be on my photo trip. I also learned a new name ("spanner") for what we call a Combination Wrench.
