The ASC2 Aluminum Short Center Column from Benro replaces the standard center column on Benro Aluminum 2 series tripods. Using a short column allows you to take full advantage of the widest leg angle on these units, so that the tripod can reach its minimum height. The column features a standard 3/8"-16 thread for mounting most tripod heads.

Yes, the Benro ASC2 Aluminum Short Center Column for 2 Series Tripods can be used with the Benro C2573F Tripod. There is also the Benro CSC2 Carbon Fiber Short Center Column for 2 Series Tripods that would work as well, BH #BECSC2 (https://bhpho.to/3u781ZF). Though this is not in stock till April 2022.

What is the exact diameter of the tube (ie, center column) of the Benro asc2? The item description says 2", but that can't be right - that's huge. That # probably refers to the diameter of the platform.
Using a digital caliper, we measured 28mm / 1.1" on the column.

Benro tripods are fairly consistent in sizing from one model to the next. The first number in the model designation is always the size or series and the aluminum center posts can always be used in both aluminum and carbon fiber tripods of the same series, but not always necessarily so when attempting to use a carbon fiber center post in an aluminum tripod. The carbon fiber center posts tend to have a little large diameter by 2 or 3 MMs and might not fit an aluminum tripod of the same series.
The after-market short center posts are actually better than the accessory posts that Benro provides with some of their tripods.
