This model is 12" long and is designed for tripods with leg diameters of 1.45-1.7", such as the Gitzo Series 4 and 5.

Fits large FLM tripod

Fits FLM CP-42 Atlas tripod perfectly. Would probably fit the CP-38 quite well too.

While these are a bit spendy compared to the few competitors, they are the best quality overall. I wish the padding was a bit thicker on the wraps, as the neoprene padding isn't that comfortable if you carry the tripod against the shoulder, especially with a camera or lens attached. For large tripods with leg diamters of 1.5 and up, the weight is usually at least 6 up to 10 pounds with just a head, and so more padding is needed than with a lighter tripod and head combo. The other product this company makes is similar to pipe insulation type foam with a cover. Not as durable as the neoprene, but much thicker, almost too thick to close some tripods. It is also not as grippy. I'd like to see them come out with a product right in the middle between the foam thickness and the neoprene, but using all neoprene for heavier tripods. I have had these on several tripods with no real issues other than the lack of thickness, which on light tripods is not an issue. Have never tried competitors as most of the alternates are echeap foam or knock off brands.
