question

What's ball size? 38mm or 40mm?
Asked by: Anonymous
Manfrotto does not list that specification in any literature related to the ball size. Chances are it is 38mm but in general there is no reason for that size to be in the specifications. The ball if you had to replace that part does not come separate and is part of the enclosed mount. This is a link to the parts http://bit.ly/1JPcwc1.

This head will work with your tripod but uses a different plate (included). You will not be able to use your Arca plate with this head.

Would this ball head be strong and solid enough ...

Would this ball head be strong and solid enough (without drift) for a Nikon D500 with Sigma 150-600C lens?
Asked by: Carole
I would certainly believe so. It easily supports my Canon D5M4 with a Canon 100-300mm zoom. There is a micro adjustment that can allow you to really clamp down when using heavy gear.

question

HI , I own Manfrotto Befree Compact Aluminum Tripod. I want to replace the tripod head with Manfrotto MHXPRO-BHQ2 XPRO Ball Head with 200PL Quick-Release System . Is it possible to remove the tripod head in the Befree compact Tripod and replace with this one ? Any additional adjustments required? Thanks
Asked by: Mallikarjunaiah
Sure, you can use this head with a Befree Compact, but don't expect the tripod legs to fit over this much larger head when you collapse it for travel. Also, there's no way that the tripod will fit in its supplied bag when this head is installed.I own a Befree with a couple of different heads also, and what I do with larger heads when travelling is to hang the head off my camera bag with an inexpensive Oben 1/4-20 hanger (BH# OBTH14) and install it out in the field.

question

Can the 200pl version of this head be converted to top lock without buying a full head?
Asked by: Robert C.
I believe that it should not be difficult to unscrew the current 200PL with an Top Lock. Remove the plate then unscrew the quick release system.
