Good sized backpack. There are quite a few little movable compartments (Velcro) which I like. The backpack has a hard exterior which is good, I just wasn’t prepared for how stiff it is. I can fit my iPhone, my small wallet and my glasses case in the bag and that’s about it after my camera.

I got this backpack to replace the shoulder bag I was using. I needed something that could hold a lot more gear especially lenses. I am using an Eos M50 and M with three lenses, filters, mics etc. I have done a video about my kit on my YouTube channel thecrowleycrew and it is an excellent bag. Perfect size comfortable to wear and it holds everything I need it to. I would highly recommend this bag to anyone with a small mirrorless system. B&H shipping was quick and they always have had great service.

I was looking for an entry level camera bag for small events and stumbled across this. Fits everything I need. If you like to over pack for the "what ifs" then i would recommend getting the bigger bag.

She Flies!

Since the Airlines are now charging for carry-ons … (e_e) I had to purchase a “new” Gear Bag (BackPack) for flights, something that would count as my personal item.  On a previous trip I used a duffel bag that held ALL my gear plus my notebook.  But after having to lug it around through the airports my fingers were practically stuck in a  curled position, not to mention the uneven distribution of weight causing my back to get out of whack!  You guys know what I mean.  Therefore I decided on a Gear Backpack! Luckily this one fits the bill!  This is built very sturdy.  It’s pretty solid and I think it will protect my Gear very well.  Best of all, ALL my gear fits in it (too bad I didn’t get it during the DealZone sale!).  I put my Audio Cables and Apple charging stuff in a Bible Case that I attached to the BackPack and it is still within the Airline Dimensions!  If my Lowepro ProTactic BP 250 AW ever wears out, I’ll be replacing it with the exact same model!  (unless Lowepro comes out with a newer model of it). It holds: Sirui A1005 Tripod with a Manfrotto 494 Center Ball Head with 200PL-PRO, Canon Vixia HF G21, Canon CG-800 Charger, Bracket 1 Cold Shoe Threaded Adapter, LanParte LANC-02, Zoom H5, Countryman B3 XLR Mic, 25ft Kopul Premier Quad Pro 5000 Series XLR Cable, 1ft 3.5mm Shielded Coiled Audio Cable, (3) 20ft 3.5mm Shielded Audio Cable, Energizer Compact Battery Charger (CHDC7), (8) AA Batteries, Sony ICD-UX300 (for Audio Backup), Giant Squid Audio Lab Omnidirectional Mic, Timex Travel Alarm Clock, Pelican 0915 Memory Card Case, Sony Cyber-shot BC-CSNB Battery Charger, ASHUTB Mini Tripod Y, Pedco UltraPod Grip Lightweight Camera Tripod, Oben QRA-R2 Quick Release Assembly, iPad Charger & Cable, iPhone Charger & Cable, iPhone Headphones, and most importantly my iPad 6 in it’s OtterBox Defender Case! The ONLY Con I have about it is a defect.  I didn’t exchange it is because it’s now discontinued on B&H.  So why am I writing this review?  Maybe the other Lowepro ProTactics may have the same defect, or it may become available again on B&H. The defect mine has is a short “glide rail” (not sure what to call it) that the Left chest strap is attached to.  It is too short compared to the one on the Right side.  What happens is that if the chest strap is all the way at the Top of its “glide rail” it will pop off!  I found this out at the airport. (I will be sewing its limit so that it never happens again). Of course, this is NOT a deal breaker for me.  I highly recommend it if it becomes available again!

Good backpack. Well made. Just wish it was a little bigger and I have small camera XT1. Kinda hard to get camera out from top compartment due to the way it folds. The side entry is a bit too narrow for my kit lens, but my x100s fits. Probably should have got the 350 but price was too good for this one. Still a good bag.

question

Can I use this with a Nikon D3200 with a battery grip on? I love this backpack but I want it to fit my gear.
Asked by: Anonymous
It would be an extremely tight fit for a D3200 with a battery grip. The bag likely wont be deep enough.

question

Would you be able to load a Nikon DF with a 50mm in and out of the top compartment? It is not a mirrorless but is about the same size.
Asked by: Andrew T.
Although the Nikon Df DSLR camera is larger than some mirrorless digital cameras, yes, you should be able to fit the Nikon Df DSLR camera in the top of the Lowepro ProTactic BP 250 AW Backpack.

If the inside dividers were removed, could this pack be scrunched down to lay flat so it could be packed and then used as a day pack when I arrive at my destination?
Asked by: copa
If one were to remove all the dividers, in the Lowepro ProTactic BP 250 AW Mirrorless Camera and Laptop Backpack, one could fold the backpack into a smaller pack, but because this "Pro Tactic BP" is made so tactically, it will never get totally "flat" to pack away.

Although the Bag is rated to fit a 11 inch Laptop, Is it possible to use the new Macbook Pro with touchbar?

No, this bag is only rated to fit small and thin 11-inch laptops, like a MacBook Air. The MacBook Pro with a touchbar comes in larger and thicker at 13-inch and 15-inch sizes.
