The EOS R3 has the N3-type socket. If you are looking for a remote controller you will need i.e. the Remote Switch RS-80N3. With the R3 you can also go wireless and use the BR-E1.

No you don't, the 5D mk IV has a N3 type socket.
Depending on your shutter release remote. If it's an N3 type, it will just plug into the 5D, but if it's an E3 type(like a headphone jack) then you will need another adapter, not this one.
