The FreeWave Fusion Basic 2.4 GHz Wireless Trigger System for Nikon from Vello is a versatile, reliable remote control kit that will trigger your camera, shoe mount flash, and studio lights from up to 328' away. Sixteen discrete channels give you the ability to avoid interference from other users while maximizing your creative potential

Use the system to expand the capabilities of your shoe mount flash or studio lights without the hassle of tangled PC cords. The FreeWave system is also great for capturing wildlife. Simply place your camera on a tripod and use your FreeWave Fusion trigger as a remote camera release from a distance. Macro work is yet another use. Release your camera's shutter remotely to avoid unwanted camera vibration. The 2.4GHz radio signal will pass through walls, windows, floors, and other obstructions.

The FreeWave Fusion Basic 2.4 GHz Flash Trigger Set is compatible with most major manufacturers' shoe-mount flashes with manual power control. Pentax, and Sony Minolta-type shoes are not compatible. Each unit runs off two AAA batteries (not included).

FreeWave Fusion Basic 2.4 GHz Wireless Trigger System for Nikon is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 14.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Lag time I have a Nikon D7100. I used it while I was photographing the interior of a cathedral. The lag time between the time I pushed the button on the trigger and the time the shutter released was anywhere between 2 to 4 seconds. I had the camera set other than single shutter release. It would release once most of the time, then other times it would release twice in a row. It would work in situations when your subject isn't moving, or won't move for several seconds. I was hoping to use it for portraits and shooting long exposure HDR landscapes, but I would probably be hesitant to use it for those purposes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works surprisingly well While we've only used this unit for a week, it has met or exceeded our expectations in every way. We purchased for a pro-studio with 2 shooters as a simple, backup to our Pocket Wizard systems, especially to use with small portable flashes on location. We like the functionality and the low profile of it so well that we are purchasing more units for our studio work. It has some limitations... I wish it had a port for a direct pc socket plug, and perhaps a lanyard hole to hang from non-shoe mount and studio flashes, but for the price I find it hard to complain about anything!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from works, but not hassle-free Used with SB-910 and SB-500 speed lights. It was difficult getting the speed lights and my D810 all on the same page. The SB-500 only works on Channel 3 in Master mode, which is fine when using Nikon CLS infrared line-of-sight. But getting the non-intuitive switch code on all the wireless transmitter/receivers to match Channel 3 requires the built-in flash of the D810 to pop up. That way you can group the SB-500 differently from the SB-910. The FreeWave transmitter cannot fit in the hot shoe and control the flashes. It must dangle off-camera so the pop up flash engages the commander mode of the camera. I was able to mix the SB-500 using CLS infrared and the wireless FreeWave on the SB-910. The transmitter works great plugged in to the camera as a remote shutter trigger.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I would buy this product again. I got this for the remote trigger and it works great on my Nikon750.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product I'm using this to fire a pair of strobes for product photography. Transmitter on my camera (Nikon 7200) and receiver on one strobe, second strobe on synch. Although the transmitter does add a little weight to the camera, which is the only down side, it isn't significant. Works perfectly straight out of the box. As I'm not using it an any distance from the receiver, I'm not sure of the range, but definitely for what I'm doing, it's perfect.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Remote shutter release for Nikon DSLR I only received the product a couple of days ago so I have only experimented with the possibilities - can't wait to really us the remote in anger! The remote is easy to set up and use although I am only using it for remote shutter release - i.e. I will not be using it for flash synchro. Primarily I shall use it for low light/night photography with the camera mounted on a tripod. It has always irked me that DSLRs do not have the simple cable release facility that was standard on virtually all 35mm cameras, but this will do precisely the same job. In fact, with its wireless capability, it offers all sorts of possibilities - no need for a selfie stick!!! A secondary use for me will be group photos where I would previously have used the self-timer and hope that I arrive puffing and panting in a suitable position within the group! Well made, good value for money - can't find anything to criticise.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Just what I was looking for! This trigger system is well made and operates as advertised (So far I've only used it to remotely trigger my cameras). It does not require line of sight to operate. For me the only downside is the tiny print and icons on the selection rocker switch - OK in adequate light, but for low light situations, bring a flashlight.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Uses AAA batteries The thing that made me purchase this is the AAA batteries. I had another brand that used two different battery types: one for receiver, one for trigger. And neither was cheap. Using AAA batteries is a real plus. Cheap, and readily available. My intended use is in very cold weather, which I have not done yet.
