This would not be the cable. You would need a micro USB 3.0 cable such as the one below.

The StarTech USB 3.0 to 2.5" SATA III Drive Adapter Cable (19.7") is only designed for low-power SATA SSDs and HDDs that can receive enough power over a USB port. For an optical disc drive, you will need an enclosure designed for optical drives that has its own external power supply, like the OWC Mercury Pro Enclosure for 5.25" Optical Drive, B&H # OWCMR3UKIT.

question

does anyone know if this (or any other) sata adapter cable will work with the atomos master caddy?
Asked by: Eoin M.
As per G-technology, the SATA connector might be slightly off. G-technology recommends that you get a USB adapter where the SATA and Power connectors are separate as opposed to a single piece as the adapter might not fit. However, you are welcome to purchase and try it out.
