Worked for a few days

I had high hopes for this product, because it is made in Canada. It worked great for a few days, and then suddenly stopped working. I was using it to convert SPDIF out of my Fractal Audio FM3 to optical into my Apollo X16D. I had been using it to record for a few days with no issues. The next day when I tried to record, no signal came from the optical port of the converter. The unit had power and the red light was on in the optical output, but no signal was present. I tried different cables and a different optical input to my X16D to confirm that it was working properly. I contacted the manufacturer by email, and after listing the troubleshooting steps I took, they issued an RMA. However, I was responsible for the shipping costs to Canada. I looked elsewhere and found similar converters that cost less than the price to ship my unit to Canada. I decided to cut my losses and buy a cheaper converter.
