Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best thing since sliced bread!!! Before I encounter this device my workflow slated for about one and half hours trying to figure out why the deck was not being seen by the computer. noticed this device hanging off the back of the computer, but really did not know what it was. I asked the tech who stated its a 'THUNDERBOLT'. What the hell is that! Make a long story short and after attending the similar by the marketing rep from Thunderbolt, well let me say this, Thank God for Thunderbolt!!!!!!!!! No more down time, connect and play...or lets go to work... I am using the adapter to connect the mini-dv deck to my iMac computer for converting mini-dv to digital content for editing...absolutely, amazing...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Firewire 800 to Thunderbolt connector I just bought a very fast MacBook Pro with SSD drive to travel with me on photo shoots. My rugged 1TB drive has USB, Firewire 400 and Firewire 800 connections, but no Thunerbolt. It made sense to purchase a connector that would take advantage of the fastest connection and not use one of the USB ports on the Mac. It was a good choice and it works.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works Flawlessly Lots of things to love about upgrading to the new MacBook Pros, EXCEPT no longer being able to use my mini-USB to Firewire cable to load the footage I just shot. Enter B&H to once again save the day. Plugged in my cable, plugged in the adapter and the whole shebang worked flawlessly. Thanks again, B&H!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not so bad! I was a little scared to get this adapter due to all the 'not so good reviews'. But after plugging it in to my card reader, hard drives it worked fine. The only negative thing is that, it is an attachment and I might misplace it since I have to use it it for multiple devices.
