Does this work with a thunderbolt 3 (USB-C connector)?Also will this work with a PC instead of a Mac (I read that it will work even though it's not officially supported by Windows, so you get a notification that it's not supported but do you want to allow it to be connected anyway and then you click yes, and it works, has anyone tried this?I have a Canopus video capture box that uses firewire and it cost me $350 so I'd like to be able to use that with my new PC Laptop (It's an MSI super port equiped laptop I think the super port is compatible with thunderbolt 3 but it only has one lane instead of all 4 (so it's only 1/4 as fast as the thunderbolt 3 but for this purpose since firewire is so slow I don't need it to be that fast just compatible).
It does not, but you can use a $49 TBolt 3 to TBolt 2 adapter. In fact, using these two adapters together is, I believe, the ONLY way available to go TB3 to FW. It will be FW800, so if your converter is FW400 thats one more adapter (but it's only about $10).

Is it possible to connect a firewire video hdv recorder device with the thunderbolt to FW adapter?
I have not tried the adaptor with video but do use two of these with different audio interfaces/applications with no issues.

Is this adapter supported by current Windows 10 OS?
I use this to adapt a focusrite DAI to an apple. I don't think this will work on a windows computer, however if you have the thunderbolt, cable which fits the female end, that will fit a windows product. Otherwise you need to adapt a USB.
