It's fine for what it is but for nearly the price to something like HP5 or Tri-X, it's not the worth it. I developed it in dilution H which make it clearer and less grainy however for most of my shots, it's just flat. This film is also not forgiving for lighting and can either be too murky in low settings or too blown out in overexposed environments. The grain is too static compared to Tri-X and HP5 developed in dilution B yet those film stocks way better than this. I won't lie though, I got couple of great shots with the exposure is balanced and the grain actually complements the image. Shadows can come out great as well but rarely. I wasn't expecting Kodak / Ilford level of quality but I do want more than an basic consumer grade film especially how it handles lighting. Hopefully Retro 80s is better for what it is.

The main difference is, Rollei Retro 400S Black and White Negative Film (35mm Roll Film, 36 Exposures) is more sensitive to Infrared light. But in most uses you will not see the difference.
