This Gitzo travel ball head is too sticky and not smooth like my old Promaster cheapo ball head. Is there anyone else with this issue?
Asked by: Karen
This head is very good and should not at all be sticky. Check the knobs and see if different tightening positions make the difference.

Will this Gitzo ball head work on Gitzo Monopod?

Yes it will work. These ball heads take a 3/8 screw, so you just need to reverse the monopod screw to use the head.

question

I have a Peak Design arcs-Swiss type plate would this head fit it?
Asked by: Nicholas K.
I use the Peak Design plates with this Gitzo head all the time and works great. I will swap out for the Gitzo plate if I'm spending a lot of time on the tripod, since it is a bomber set-up.

question

I plan to buy a Gitzo GK2545T tripod with a 1382TQD ball head which is Arca-Swiss compatible. My camera is a Canon 7D without battery grip. What L-bracket would you suggest?
Asked by: Anonymous
I used this particular combination with a Canon 5D this summer in Alaska. The combo was extremely easy to pack and set up. It was sturdy enough using a up to a 70-200 f/2.8 lens. The hook on the center column was convieniet to use to hang the carrying case loaded with extra weight in windy conditions. Even though I have an L-bracket it is not needed because the ball head comes with an Acra-Swiss compatible.

Wondering if the ProMediaGear arca-swiss type plates will fit into this head? They don't fit into my current Gitzo 'arca-swiss' QR head, and I was hoping the new design would work.
