The buckwheat-filled black Safarisack 4.2 Beanbag from Kinesis Photo Gear is designed to provide a soft support for your camera. Buckwheat hull filler is included in the Safarisack, although it can be removed from the zippered compartment and replaced with rice or other fill. The bottom of the bean bag has a rubberized-style fabric that keeps the sack in place when put on a vehicle or other slick surface. The Safarisack 4.2 can be used as a flat support, saddlebag style, or as a tripod ballast.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Do THIS or put a tripod in your pocket... ...Either that or don't get old. It just makes sense to take the time to create your shot and stabilize the camera when holding your breath no longer works. This bag is great just slung over my shoulder and it serves as a great thing to simply swing out and lean against or plop onto something which is itself stable so that you can then compose and expose your shot and begin to use shutter speed as another meaningful parameter in your mobile shooting. The buckwheat filling is extremely light, yet sets up nice to give you that stability that you need. This thing is valuable for those times that you just have to walk around handheld---either for stills or video.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great bag! I used the bag on a Kenya Mission Trip which ended in a four day safari. It was a nice support when shooting out the roof of the Land Rover. Loved that it had a clip so you could attach it to the roof railing so it didn't slide off the roof and out of the vehicle. I bought it with the buckwheat hulls, but removed them for the trip to save on space and weight and purchased several bags of beans in Kenya to use while there. (Our driver appreciated the beans after we left!)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from perfect size and configurability for hiking clip it onto your pack for an additional means of support (use the pack and bean bag combined as a platform for resting a lens/body while shooting). Works great for what it is designed to do. Use it with my 6D+100-400 to provide a very stable base when shooting from my vehicle or when I need a softer/more uniform surface to shoot from such as when around rocks/tree stumps/fence posts and don't have a mono/tri-pod. As a side note: while I never had a problem, when I was in yellowstone, I noted that the bison/buffalo seemed to be able to smell the buckwheat hulls and may have been interested in them. I never had a problem, but it is worth noting that you may have a scent trail that you don't know about when carrying this.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I like it but it does have some bulk. I bought this basically to use on the ground for really low shots where I didn't want my camera to move. First place I used it was the sidewalk chalk festival at my local art museum. It worked great, I used my phone to take trigger the shutter and just sat back until the artists were focused on drawing and not posing. Very quick and simple to get the camera settled on, stays put and offers some vibration damping (yea at times the band was that loud !). The only downside is by nature to doesn't roll up and fit in a corner of your camera bag. It does take up some real estate when you carry it. Overall I'll get lots of use out of it.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from large and loose fill I debated on this for a while then decided to order it. It is larger than I was expecting; and more importantly, I either misunderstood the description or missed it, but the filler is loose inside of the bag (the filler is not within its own bag inside of the larger bag). There were scattered buckwheat hulls in the clear packaging when I received it and if the zipper is not tightly closed, the hulls can and do easily slip through - don't care to be cleaning up hulls or worse one works its way into some area of equipment. I will most likely continue to look for something or get creative. Also, the buckwheat hulls are not as quiet as I thought they might be. The beanbag is lightweight which is great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Safarisack 4.2 Beanbag Camera Support A surprisingly light weight camera/lens support. Handles my Canon EOS 7D and Canon EF 300mmf/4L IS USM lens nicely. Vs having to carry/set up a tripod to use that combination, the bag can be placed almost anywhere making photography so much faster and easier. The three straps provide various set ups and carrying methods easy. The zipper allowing removing the buckwheat hulls for storage is another nice feature.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great getting the camera down low with the subject I use this beanbag for nature photography. It's great for getting the camera down low with the subjects. It's been especially helpful when shooting birds at the beach. The material is rugged and the filling does not make it heavy to carry. Straps on the side allow you to adjust the height or attach to a resting point. Overall, it works as advertised and it's an affordable fix if you don't want to carry around your tripod. I recommend this purchase.
