Although I slightly prefer the look of a B+W Circular Polarizer, what the Hoya HD3 does better is it is stackable. The Hoya HD3 is easy to take on and off the lens. I use B+W T-Pro Clear filters on all my lenses to protect them. The Hoya HD3 Circular Polarizer will stack on my lenses protected with the B+W T-Pro Clear filters. The box is terrible. Buy a Sensei step up ring that has the knurled edges from B&H and it comes with a plastic hard case with a foam cut-out for the exact size filter. I do this now for all my filters I buy from B&H, even if I don't need the step up ring.

The filter fits great. It's a little stiff turning it to remove reflections. I hoping that will go away with a little use. Other than that it works great.

Would this circular polarizer cause vignetting on the low end of a 15-35mm zoom?
Due to its relatively thin profile, it should not cause vignetting on a 15-35mm. However, in the event there is some, it would be very, very minor.

What you are paying for is quality. Hoya is one of the best companies making filters. With this one you getting all the best features Hoya can produce. The quality of the ring, the glass, the foils that make up the Polarizer, the works. The B+W, on the other hand is the finest they make in this size. Honestly, without comparing side by side, it is hard to make a determination. I suspect both will have outstanding performance and build quality and the in the long run, you will not lose with either.

I cannot find any objective comparison between the Hoya HD3 Circular Polarizer and the NXT Plus other than brain wash marketing. Would someone help finding information? I can hardly justify $200 in a filter even though money is not a problem.
It’s a good filter but nothing special about it. You will rarely use it if you have got good prime lenses

Zeiss or Hoya HD3 CP? They are about equal in price, but which is the better filter for Sony f/2.8 24-70?
Both filters have an anti-reflective coating, but the Hoya HD3 would have a 16 layer coating which prevents scratches, stain, and is water resistant, for easier cleaning. Also it has a thinner ring which is better for wider lenses like a Sony 24-70mm f/2.8.
