Epson PM-400 Overview

Compact, wireless, and designed for high-resolution photos, the Epson PictureMate PM-400 Personal Photo Lab uses MicroPiezo inkjet technology to create detailed prints at 5760 x 1440 dpi and up to 5 x 7". Ideal for snapshots and family pictures, it works with 3.5 x 5", 4 x 6", and 5 x 7" paper, as well as No. 10 envelopes for producing the most common and convenient photo sizes. It produces a 4 x 6" photo in about 36 seconds.

The PictureMate offers borderless printing, Auto Photo Correction, and can function without a computer thanks to the 2.7" LCD and SD/SDHC/SDXC card slot. Mobile printing is available with Wi-Fi Direct and it works with a wide variety of different protocols, including Apple AirPrint and Google Cloud Print.

It has a 50-sheet plain paper capacity for documents or 20 sheets of thicker glossy photo paper. There is also an option for single sheets up to 23.6 mil for more specialized media. For connection you can either plug in using a USB 2.0 cable or connect the printer to the network using Wi-Fi.

It was easy to set up and it is easy to use. The quality of the photos is great! I love the fact that I can also print out 7x5 photos and the 6X4 size. This is going to come in real handy for Christmas gifts this year printing up and framing photos from a "Girls Trip"

Easy set up for MacPro, Ipad, Iphone. Colors match what's on the screen, wow. Haven't had a printer this good since my HP 200 30 yrs ago. Worth the price. and it's portable.

Does this printer print on matte paper?

This printer is made to print on gloss and semi-gloss paper. Matte paper like plain paper will be too think and will pucker and come out damaged as it cannot handle the ink "load" and fine art matte paper if the weight is about 235 GSM and the mil (thickness) is more than 12 mil, it is too thick and heavy to print. Most semi-gloss paper including Canon and Inkpress will work well.

The Epson PictureMate PM-400 Personal Photo Lab BH #EPPM40 can print text documents yes. • To print text and graphics in black or shades of gray you will want to select the Black/Grayscale setting.

The Epson PictureMate PM-400 Personal Photo Lab (B&H # EPPM400) can print directly from the Nikon Z7 since it supports pictbridge while the Nikon Z8 does not.

Can you add any text or graphics to a picture through the printer (without a computer?)

The Epson PictureMate PM-400 Personal Photo Lab doesn't have a feature to add text or graphics to a picture/photo, however, if you're taking photos with your smartphone, and you have an app that can add text or graphics to the photo, you could use the app to add what you want before sending the job to the printer.
