Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great way to take ownership of your LAN line. Easy product to use. If you are going to transfer you landline, make sure you do it as part of the setup process, don't take a number or you will get another fee added to your account. Once setup, its really easy and works great. I hear the customer service is not great, but I have not needed it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Save tons of money over landline. I have been using a VOIP phone for my small business for about three years now and it has worked great but still paid $25/month for the service. So having enough experience with VOIP, I switched over to Magicjack and ported my number over. Saved $230 over the other VOIP service the first year. My home number was a landline with a second ring for fax. The only reason to even have this landline was to screen calls and send and receive faxes. For that privileged I was paying around $50/month. Got two more MagicJacks, ported my home number over and saved $400 over landline. I set up my fax machine to 9600 baud and was able to send and receive faxes just fine. Maybe it is able to send at a higher speed but I just set-up at a lower speed to make sure it works. In addition, over the landline, I can log in and see what number called and can block it if necessary. I am not even sure or do not even know how to do this with the landline. I had to pay outrageous long distance rates to use my landline (and resorted to my cell phone) but with Magicjack it is free so I use my Magicjack without worrying about costs. I should have used Magicjack years ago but hesitated because thought that it was a hassle to port over a number, possible reliability issues, and, with the first generation of Magicjack, required a computer. I am glad I made the switch. One issue I found was that I put all three MagicJacks, router and powersupply in a box. It got warm and all of the Magicjack stopped working. I had to open up the box and re-powered everything and all of the magic jacks worked again. Thus be careful not to overhead the unit but the overheating did not permanently damage the units.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works perfectly to replace my $ a month phone I purchased Magicjack-Go from B&H at a great price. It replaced my old $ a month phone service. I hooked it up to my high speed internet router and it has been working great.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from So far, so good The only surprise was the cost to port my current number. You tube videos I watched in advance of purchase stated MagicJack gave you a $10 credit which could be used to port my number. There was no credit and the cost to port was $20. It was easy to install and so far seems fine.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Definately would buy again! Works perfectly, as expected. Ported my existing phone number for an additional one time charge of $20. Connected MagicJack to a cordless phone and my annual cost savings is BIG! Savings will be more than $500 per year!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Be sure of your uses before you buy. My girlfriend and I bought one each to use in our respective houses. They work well for most purposes. The dial tone sounds just like the prior one from AT&T. The caller ID, which I've never had, works well. I've made long distance and toll free calls through it and have had no problems. BUT if you have a land line alarm system, CHECK with the alarm company to see if it is compatible! I disconnected the land line wire and connected the MagicJack to the system and according to the alarm company customer service, the alarm worked. When the phone number was ported over and no longer associated with a land line company, the alarm connection stopped working! By the way, don't believe anyone who says you can't connect the MagicJack to your house wiring, I did. Just make sure you don't have ANY service remaining that will use the home wiring. Just connect the MJ to a home phone jack and the system will work just as it did before, but, to be safe, be sure to physically disconnect the old phone company wires from your house wiring, a power surge could ruin your MagicJack. My wall box had two very simple jacks which disconnect the two systems. If you use old phones with mechanical ringers, there is a limit to how many can be powered by the MagicJack. I tested one and it worked, I've read that not many can be supported by the native voltage of the MJ. Other than changing her alarm company, she, and I like our new phone service. Especially the price!
