Aperture and focus scales are marked on both sides of the lens, which makes it easier for a focus puller to work either side of the lens. The lenses feature a multi-layer coating providing good contrast, a sharp image, and protection from veiling glare. Industry standard focus and iris gear rings share a common position across the lenses for quick lens swaps when working with lens accessories such as follow focus units. Focus and iris are manual only with no electronic focus or iris control by the camera, and the iris ring is de-clicked, which allows you to make smooth iris pulls during a shot.

Rokinon 50mm T1.5 AS UMC Cine DS Lens for Canon EF Mount

The 50mm T1.5 AS UMC Cine DS Lens for Canon EF Mount from Rokinon is a fast manual focus prime lens. It provides a very fast maximum aperture of T1.5 for effective low light capture and shallow depth of field control and an 8 blade iris for attractive bokeh. Optimized for cinema and video applications, the focus and aperture control rings are outfitted with industry standard gearing, which provides an interface for working with a traditional follow focus. In addition, bright aperture and distance markings are printed on the lens barrel facing laterally to facilitate easier control by a focus puller.

The 50mm has a minimum focus distance of 1.5'. Internal focusing minimizes the effects of lens breathing, which insures a more consistent angle-of-view when adjusting focus. The lens is composed of 9 elements in 6 groups, including one aspherical element and one hybrid aspherical element to reduce aberrations. In addition, a lens multi-coating helps to improve light transmission reducing flare and ghosting. The filter thread diameter is 77mm.

Each of the DS branded lenses will offer the same alignment of their geared focus and aperture rings so that follow focus and other rig accessories won't need re-adjustment when swapping lenses. Also, each DS lens is tested to be color matched with the other lenses in the series and provide the same color and contrast when shooting video. Lastly, the lenses are marked with focusing scales on each side of the barrel for easier adjustment from either side of the camera.

These lenses is suitable for Sony a6300 APS-c sensor camera? If not which is the suitable lenses for Sony a6300 camera.
Asked by: Sukesh
The Rokinon 16, 35, 50, 85mm Cine DS Lens Bundle for Canon EF Mount, B&H # ROSLKC, listed above are designed for use on Canon cameras that use the Canon EF lens mount. The correct option for your usage needs would instead be the Rokinon 16, 35, 50, 85mm Cine DS Lens Bundle for Sony E Mount, B&H # ROSLKSE, which would connect directly to the Sony E-mount lens mount used on the Sony Alpha a6300 Mirrorless Digital Camera. Do note that these are fully manual lenses, so you would have to focus manually, as well as set your exposure manually and adjust the aperture using the aperture ring built onto the lens.

question

Hi,will this kit work on a BMMCC + a speedbooster for BMPCC? Especially the 16mm one, considering its sensor size. Thanks!
Asked by: Yan F.
Sorry but the Metabones Canon EF Lens to Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera T Speed Booster ONLY works on the Pocket Cinema Camera. Used on the Blackmagic Design Cinema Camera (MFT Mount) the adapter's rear glass element may cause damage to the camera. You would have to use the Metabones Canon EF Lens to Blackmagic 2.5k Cinema Camera T Speed Booster (Micro 4/3 Mount) to mount these lenses on the camera. The 16mm is meant to cover an APS-C sensor which is 22.2mm wide. With the Booster's 0.64 factor applied, that comes to 14mm. You will be good since the Blackmagic Design Cinema Camera (MFT) sensor is 8.8mm wide.

question

Im thinking of getting this kit with the Panasonic GH4, should I get the MFT set or should i get a metabones adaptor and the Canon EF set? If so what s the best adaptor to get to counter the GH4s crop factor?
Asked by: Anonymous
If you get the set in MFT or E mount, you cannot use it with any other mount. If you get them in EF, not only will they work on a EF camera but with the appropriate adapter MFT, and E mount cameras as well. A Metabones speed booster will widen out the FOV of these lenses, negating the need for purchasing an extra lens for your wide needs. If you are going to use the GH4 for still and video, get the 0.71 Speedbooster. If you are using it for video only, go for the 0.64. This matches the lenses best for their intended use.

question

Is there a hard case included? Thanks!
Asked by: Yan F.
Sorry no case is included but you can use this one. It will take the lenses in spite of the brand difference. You may have to use a serrated knife to cut the holes to fit.

question

Are these lenses able to transmit data back to the camera?
Asked by: Nicholas C.
No they're not able to transmit data back to the camera, but the effort to view the waveforms to determine accurate levels, or using a light meter, or both, is well, well, worth it. These are incredibly sharp lenses and to me are a tremendous value!!
