  • 3Directional Pickup for a Better Sound
  • 4Versatile 3.5mm Jack

If you're shooting mobile video and want better audio than what your phone provides—or if you need to record VO or ADR on the go—the Rode VideoMIC Me is worth your consideration. This is a shotgun mic that plugs right into a smartphone's 3.5mm TRRS headphone jack, letting you record quality audio in the process.

The mic focuses the audio capture on what's directly in front of the capsule thanks to the directional polar pattern. It's primarily intended for use with compatible smartphones and devices that sport 3.5mm TRRS connections. The mic comes with a flexible mounting bracket as well as a furry windscreen for achieving a better sound in windy conditions.

Perfect for Mobile Video and More
With its simple plug-and-play form factor, the mic is perfectly suited for mobile video recording. However, the quality of the mic itself is good enough to be used for VO or ADR when studios are not available; the mic has been used this way in a few television shows.
Directional Pickup for a Better Sound
The highly directional cardioid polar pattern will help tamp down unwanted room noise and ambience.
Versatile 3.5mm Jack
A rear-mounted, built-in 3.5mm jack works with headphones, or it can also be utilized for backup recording.

question

I just bought a Letv Le1 pro x800, it's the second phone of the company. It works on EUI, an operative system whose base is Android. Does anyone see any reasons why the mic wouldn't be working on this phone??
Asked by: Anonymous
Unfortunately without testing the units we would be unable to confirm, however from specs available, the unit features a TRRS jack for headphone/mic and should work properly.

I want to use this mic with my Samsung note 9 mounted on a ski osmo 2 gimbal. attaching it directly to the phone messed with the balance. what other accessories would I need to utilize this?
Asked by: Nicholas
This specific mic is designed to sit on the phone directly. If you need the mic off the phone, you could use this mic kit B&H # ROVIDEOMICPC and this cold shoe mount BH #ULPT3.

is this compatible with an LG v35 thinq? I want ...

is this compatible with an LG v35 thinq? I want to increase quality on ambient sound (I use tascam wireless mics for other productions).
Asked by: Travis
I can't speak specifically to the LG v35 Thinq. But I have used it on another Android phone (Google Pixel 4a). It should work and sound okay. Keep in mind that it is designed for an iPhone. So direct monitoring (aka passthrough) isn't an option on Android. Also, it was designed with the assumption that the cameras and headphone jack will be on opposite ends of the device (again, iPhone). So, depending on the camera and headphone jack placement it may be visible in your shot. Or in my case, with the furry windscreen installed it'll almost fully obscuring the lens (partial on rear camera, fully on front camera).

Will this work with the Samsung Galaxy Note 8?

Will this work with the Samsung Galaxy Note 8?
Asked by: Kurt
Hello Kurt, as long as you have a standard TRRS 1/8" input to the Note 8 this should work fine. Be careful not to block too much of the input with a third party case.
