Requires modification to use with a6500

This product works great. Powers my rig just fine. The only draw back was inserting the dummy battery into the a6500. The blue latch wouldn't fit over the dummy, so I just used a knife to shave off some plastic.. it fits great now and work with the camera flawlessly.

Perfect Idea, Doesn't Seem Fully Compatible

These comments are only after initial tests in my apartment, but I'm not sure I can rely on this for a long shoot yet. Right out of the box it attached to my rig perfectly with the 15 rod clamps. The thing fits tightly and has the ability to tilt up and down, which is really nice. I slapped on my Gold Mount battery and plugged in the dummy to my a7sii and got an error message that the battery was incompatible. Darn. Since my battery was almost on an empty charge so I decided to plug it in and try again. While it was charging I plugged my AC/DC to D-Tap charger into the plate and this time it powered up just fine, however the battery display on my camera kept switching between between 4% and 6%, aka very low battery. Even though it was plugged into power. After a few hours I tried out the Gold Mount battery again. With almost a full charge it displayed only 6% battery on the a7sii, something which makes me nervous if I need to shoot for a while. Eventually the battery drained down to empty on the screen of the a7sii, yet stayed on for a while. I'll have to do a test to see how long it stays like that, and if there is a chance that the battery powers off at any point. The latter would be terrible while recording, so I'm hoping its just a bad connection that leads to incorrect battery data transmission. Picky detail - wish it came with red clamps as everything else on my rig is red and these are teal blue but oh well.
