Fantastic lens protection and camo

Got this LensCoat RealTreee Max 5 for my birthday and I love it. Feels great to grip the neoprene and the RealTree Max5 camo style is perfect for the woodlands that I shoot in. I have a few items in the RealTree Max 5 pattern and this prints a little on the magenta side compared to others. No big deal really. I don't think wildlife is that discerning. The fit for my Nikon 200-500 is perfect and slipping it on the lens body is easy peasy. I would highly recommend!

$$$ with little return.

The only function this product provides is a little bump and scratch resistance. Yes, it also provides a bit of camouflage, but anyone who understands anything about cover and concealment will tell you there is a giant 4.5 inch reflector on the front of the lens called a main objective. Also, and in all fairness, I've never hunted anything with more than 2 feet, but can you really tell me birds, bears and deer will run away from the big black tree branch the photographer is holding? Now I bought this thing for the weather resistance. There is none. The bands of neoprene that come in this kit wrap around the sections that are by nature weather resistant. All the gaps between the focus and zoom rings are still exposed. Some of the switches are covered but are by no means weather sealed. Unless you are really after the camo aspect, or can't seem to get through a forest without hitting every tree along the way, this is not, in my most humble opinion, a good investment.

Does this Lencoat cover include a cover for the lens hood?
Asked by: Clark
Yes, this Lencoat cover does includes a lens hood cover for the Nikon 200-500mm f/5.6 ED VR Lens, just as the product image shows. I do use the barrel cover on when within the 500mm range, this minimizes any barrel creeping during overhead exposures.

after putting this to the lens, does it get stuck when turning back to 200mm length? Thanks.

I should have said that I have not had a problem with it, but I don't use the piece over the extending portion of the lens

There is a section for covering the hood element. The hood should have already come with your lens.
