I have the 4 x 6' frame. Can I add on to make it 6 x6' or 8x 8' and if so what would I need to buy?
Asked by: Mike
Westcott sells extensions to the system that would allow you to change the size from of the Westcott Scrim Jim Cine Video Kit (4 x 6') BH #WE1690 from 4x6' to 6x6' or 8x8'. You would need the side sections, the connectors and new diffusions.

How do these attach to stands for use as a overhead scrim {butterfly} ???
Asked by: Robert
There are a variety of ways to mount this. Most will use a Center Jaw Vise Clamp (Westcott part #1980) and place that into a Grip Head (Westcott Part #1881) which mounts to a light stand. In September of 2019, Westcott will be releasing the Scrim Jim Clamp to provide another mounting option. That part number will be Westcott #2080.

Hi, just wanted to confirm that this is exactly the same as the Scrim Jim Cine except that this comes with net, deluxe case (instead of regular), and 1 stop diffusion (instead of 3/4 stop diffusion)?

You are correct. With the 6x6 Scrim Jim Cine video kit, you receive the 6x6 frame, a 6x6 full stop diffusion, a 6x6 silver/white reversible bounce, and a 6x6 single net fabric. All of this comes in a heavy duty, wheeled carry case.

is it possible to construct a 5' by 8' frame for 60" ND gel roll?
Asked by: Jim
The Scrim Jim system is very modular, so you can always get very close to whatever size you are trying to create. There are post sizes of 10", 22", 34", and 46". There are also 1" and 2" connectors. Therefore, the closest you could get to 5'x8' would be two 46" posts and a 2" connector to achieve the 8' side. You would use a 46" post and 10" post with a 2" connector to acheive the 5' side. You would also get 4 corner connectors which add 1" on every side. For further help, call the Westcott customer service team at 800-886-1689.
