BH #ICND100077 • MFR #ICE-ND1000-77
Ice ND1000 3.0 ND Filter (77mm, 10-Stop)
Key Features
  • 1000x Filter Factor, 10-Stop
  • Darkens Entire Image Area
  • Allows Reduced Shutter Speed
  • Allows Wider Aperture
The 77mm ND1000 3.0 ND Filter from Ice is a neutral density filter with a 1000x filter factor that provides a 10-stop exposure reduction. Its 3.0 density creates a darkening of the entire image, allowing a wider aperture to be used for finer control over depth of field, or a slower shutter speed than normal to convey movement more easily. Neutral density filters do not affect the coloration of the image and are ideal for pairing with other filters.

1. Is it really 10 Stops ? 2. Does it have X pattern or Unnatural color cast ?
Asked by: Anirban
Yes, it does decrease the exposure by 10 stops. There have been no reports of severe banding or artifacts--X patterns are found sometimes in variable ND filters.

Yes, the Ice Z-Pro Series ND1000 Solid Neutral Density 3.0 Filter (10-Stop), B&H # ICND1000CZ, would be compatible for use in the NiSi V5 Pro 100mm Filter Holder. The NiSi V5 Pro 100mm Filter Holder is designed for use with 100mm wide filters up to 2mm thick, and the Ice Z-Pro Series ND1000 Solid Neutral Density 3.0 Filter is 100mm wide and is 1.7mm thick.

Would this be good for solar eclipse photography?
Asked by: Kelly
The Ice 84 x 98mm P Series ND1000 Solid Neutral Density 3.0 Filter (10-Stop) is not enough for solar eclipse. You can buy two and stack them together. That will work since you will get to 20 stops. If you only want one filter I recommend this 16.5 stop option. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1522594-REG/ice_ice_100k_p_84x98mm_nd100000_3_0_filter.html
