Achieving the perfect balance between size and performance, the silver XF 35mm f/2 R WR from FUJIFILM is an elegant normal-length prime featuring a compact profile and apt image quality. Two aspherical elements are used in the optical design to reduce distortion and spherical aberrations in order to produce greater sharpness and accurate rendering. A Super EBC coating is also used to control flare and ghosting for improved contrast and color fidelity when working in bright and backlit conditions. Complementing the optics is a stepping motor, along with an internal focusing design, which provides quick and especially quiet focusing performance. Additionally, the lens is weather-sealed to suit working in inclement conditions.

FUJIFILM XF 35mm f/2 R WR Reviews
The Ultimate Zoomless Focal Length
Worked Intimate Landscape stuff for years using zooms. Switched to Fuji and heard the buzz about their primes. Checked my best shots which came in about 35mm-ish. Bought the 35f2 WR. The rest is history... Hello Fujicron primes, bye-bye zooms!
Excellent Lens
Sharp lens built like a tank. The tactile feel is excellent - reminds me of my old Pentax ME Super or K1000 back in the day. Looks great on my Silver X-T5
Take the Plunge
I struggled with the different lens options in this range, and for a variety of reasons settled on the 35 f2. I'm very glad I did. The lens is sharp, lightweight and has beautiful bokeh. If you're on the fence like I was, take the plunge.
You probably want it
It's official, this purchase marks me trying just about every X mount standard lens option. They're all pretty good but I think this is my favorite. The 33mm f1.4 is comparable in image quality, a little too much for me to justify the extra cost-what you get for double the price is an extra stop of light and a little extra performance in extreme use cases. The XC version of this lens is really nice for the cost, but I do find this one to be a little crisper in the center (maybe better quality control?) and quieter to focus. The old 35mm f1.4 and Zeiss Touit 32 definitely show their age and aren't built as well, although I do have a soft spot for look of the Zeiss. One final note, I was torn between this and the 23mm f2 for quite awhile and having used both a lot I can say I think the 35 is a better buy. It just holds up a lot better on the 40 MP sensors, plus the 23 is prone to aperture ring malfunction which I experienced. I realize this review doesn't necessarily say too much about this lens itself, but I often wish I saw more comparative reviews when shopping. This one has maybe the best center image quality of all the competition, and for the relatively low price, small size, and super sturdy build, it's tough to beat. If I did more client work and I needed to be sure my results were always top notch, I would probably spring for the 33.
Nifty lens
The photos are very sharp. The lens is also fairly light and works great with my Xpro3. Great lens.
Excellent all around lens
Bought this lens as a general purpose 50mm lens. The fit and finish are superb at any price point, let alone at this price. The bokeh smooth and the detail in focus is superb. Color rendition is superb as well. The weather sealing is a necessity for me. F2 provides plenty of light, I have been able to shoot some very low light music performances with this lens and the results, even with a relatively high ISO, are outstanding. It just looks right on a X-Pro 2 or 3, the proportions are spot on. I would not hesitate to recommend this lens to anyone. It is my daily driver, and I don't see that changing in the near future.
Love it
So far I'm in love with the lens. Its material seems to be strong enough and of quality.
Great compact lens
I love this focal length and it's a great little lens. Sharpness and bokeh are great. The autofocus is fast. I love the physical aperture ring No complaints at all.
